A September 2025 review has CJ Home Services renovating the original chicken coop on a homeowner's property into storage space. That is the far end of a job list that otherwise runs to finished basements, gutted bathrooms, new kitchens and exterior paint. The company works out of Lynn, and its site describes design and renovation work — remodeling, carpentry, painting, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, flooring — and says it has 18 years behind it. The Google page averages 4.9 across 92 ratings, and the longer write-ups carry the detail: a full remodel in April 2026 with interior painting, new trim and baseboards, vinyl flooring and a complete bathroom renovation; a basement renovation described in March 2026, the crew on time and the work area kept clean; an East Boston rental in November 2025 where they rebuilt the three-season sun rooms, re-sided the exterior, replaced windows and put in a new bathroom vanity. A March 2025 customer credited the crew with suggestions and a fair price on a deck painting, and a 2023 reviewer said the job ended with a daughter's new condominium left spotless. The carpentry stands on its own. In August 2025 alone: a built-in wall with an electric fireplace and a kitchen banquette in an East Boston condo, new back stairs and a re-shingled shed done in two days, and a rotted kitchen cabinet base repaired at what that customer called fair pricing. In April 2025 a homeowner had two bowed balcony support posts replaced, with the existing decking reused around them. Timing comes up too: 8am starts every day in a December 2025 account, nights and weekends to hit a fixed date in July 2024, and a couple of small carpentry projects on a Southie condo in July 2025 that started early and finished ahead of a tight deadline. Two customers came away unhappy. A customer in October 2024 left one star, saying several spots on the walls were missed, that someone else would have to be hired to fix them, and that it was not worth what they paid. A second one-star review, in February 2025, came from an elderly woman with fibromyalgia who called about having her pellet stove cleaned. For a whole-room renovation, or carpentry that has to look finished, this is a straightforward crew to call, and the quoting can be thorough: in April 2024 a customer with a condo described itemized expenses, options walked through, and a call placed to a colleague in mold remediation for a better assessment of the work required. The company's site says it is licensed and insured — get that paperwork in hand, and on a painting job, walk the walls in daylight before the final payment.
