Melgar Masonry and Landscape is a Central Falls, Rhode Island outfit whose customers hire Luis for stone steps, pavers and yard builds. It holds 4.2 stars from 13 ratings on Angi. The written reviews date from 2021 to 2023. In a November 2022 Angi review, a customer wrote that Luis visited quickly, gave an estimate within three days, met them at a local stone supplier to look at options, and had two sets of stairs rebuilt with bluestone caps and stone facing plus a walkway rebuilt in pavers, completed on time and on budget, with workers starting early and working until dark. A January 2022 customer described a modern retaining wall, a basketball court, a custom fire pit, a custom white oak fence and a paved courtyard, and said neighbors were hiring him for their yard. In a May 2022 review, Luis and his team picked up and planted 10 large emerald green arborvitae, working in the rain to finish before a storm. Another January 2022 reviewer called the price for stonework and paver work very fair. There are complaints. In a June 2023 Angi review about a landscaping job, a customer called him a thief and wrote that he stole $14000 from them. A January 2022 snow-removal customer said only half the driveway was cleared because their car was in it, and asked for notice of arrival next time.
Landscape - Install Landscaping for Yard or GardenHe is a thief, be careful he stole $14000 from me please do not hire him.
Luis was very responsive to our initial inquiry. He quickly came out to visit our property, discussed our proposed front steps and walkway project and provided an estimate within three days. He met with us at a local stone supplier to look at options that were available and he offered advice regarding options that we were not aware of. The project was started in a timely manner and completed on time and on budget. We had two sets of stairs rebuilt using bluestone caps and stone facing and had a walkway rebuilt using pavers. It looks magnificent! The workers were meticulous and polite and extremely hard working as they started early in the morning and worked until dark. The finished project exceeded our expectations! Luis provided a great service at a great price and we are extremely happy. We have already started thinking about another masonry project and will contact Luis in the spring to get the ball rolling.
Luis and team picked up and planted 10 large 8+ ft emerald green arborvitae trees. Trees were hard to find, but once we found them Luis promptly got a truck there to pick them up and had them planted within a few days (included working in rain to get done before storm).
