MHT Paving & Landscaping is a Portsmouth outfit hired mostly to tear out and rebuild driveways. nhbr.com has quoted Paul Mercier of MHT Paving and Landscaping in Portsmouth, and its Better Business Bureau grade is A+. A 2019 customer said they ripped up a 3,500 sq ft driveway, removed about a foot and a half of clay sand mix in some areas, replaced it with a solid base and put down a minimum of 3 inches of hot top. A 2018 customer wrote that MHT replaced an old driveway and walkways with 3 inches of asphalt on a proper base and swapped out a rusted culvert. That 2018 customer then hired them to backfill, regrade and hydro seed. A 2018 customer said Paul came to the house right away with a quote to replace a concrete retaining wall leaning into the driveway, and thanked Frank by name. A 2017 customer said Paul proposed sealing several large cracks and resurfacing the drive instead of reconstructing it, a considerable savings. In that 2017 review, the return to seal the walk was delayed, and Paul sent the worker to finish once reminded. A 2015 customer said the crew removed a concrete walkway and laid brick, and that the asphalt driveway was laid by hand to change its slope toward the street. A 2021 customer said they removed dirt that should have been left, creating a depression where a large puddle forms when it rains. A 2019 customer said they never scheduled the work, just showed up, and left the yard a mess. A 2017 customer felt the price was on the high end and that the driveway should have been four or five inches wider near the street. A 2013 customer called the work shabby for the price.
