- Plan reviews — Mike made helpful suggestions and changes, per 2022
- Lawn seeding follow-up — 2021 review says Mike refused to fix it
Mikes Affordable Landscape is a landscaping business in Franklin, MA. In a 2022 review, all the planting in front of a house was replaced, along with a new walkway, a new shade garden and sod. That reviewer said Mike and his crew were efficient and hard working, and that Mike was excellent about reviewing plans and making helpful suggestions and changes. A 2021 review describes two visits to loam and hydroseed parts of a lawn, paid $1350 on 9/6/20 and $1750 on 4/19/21. The reviewer said the lawn didn't take, that Mike had said he would come back in the fall to fix it, and that he then refused and blamed the reviewer for not watering as directed or the sun not shining.

This is just a heads up for anyone looking for a reputable Landscape Company to avoid Mike’s Affordable Landscaping. Learn from my $3100 mistake! He doesn’t back his work and will string you along with false promises. I hired him based on a glowing recommendation from a friend. He came twice to loam and hydroseed parts of my lawn. On 9/6/20 I paid him $1350 and had him back to complete more on 4/19/21 paying $1750. He said it would be difficult to grow grass in April but he would come back in the fall to fix it. The lawn didn’t take and I’ve been communicating with him to come fix it. He refuses now and blames me for “not watering as directed or the sun didn’t shine”. Interesting considering the rest of my lawn looks amazing (the parts I seeded with Scott’s from BJ’s). Same water frequency and sun shine- explain that. He has done nice work for my buddy but apparently I don’t generate enough revenue for him. Beware!
