Modern Landscaping is a North Easton, MA landscape design and installation company whose website says it was founded in 1968. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, 141988, is expired. A July 2026 Google customer said Jay created a digital rendering of their patio and walked them through different paver options, and a June 2026 customer said the renderings showed how the patio, landscaping, lighting and elevation changes would look. A March 2026 customer had pet turf installed in a section of their basement as a play and exercise area for their dog, after earlier using the company to install pavers for a walkway. An August 2025 customer said Jay installed a putting green and outdoor entertainment area and handled the permits. In June 2023, a customer described a Cambridge paver patio with a seating wall and a walkway to the deck, and said Jay broke the proposal down into options with the associated pricing. A September 2021 customer said Jay came back weeks later to reseed grass areas that didn't grow as expected. An August 2026 3★ review from a weekly mowing customer said the crew is not proactive about trimming bushes, hedges and weeding, and has weed-whacked some of their perennials. Google shows 4.9★ from 62 ratings, and BBB gives it an A+ grade.
We had ML come to design our pool area as well as around the deck. The employees were fantastic! Super satisfied with what they accomplished! they were hard working as well as pleasant, polite and professional! Super people! Would hire again as well as recommend them to any one needing landscaping!
Modern Landscaping does a good job of mowing the lawn each week, but they are not proactive in addressing other items, such as trimming bushes, hedges, and weeding. Also, the crew has weed-whacked some of my perennials, which is distressing because the plants are then unable to grow back the following year.
I honestly can’t say enough good things about Jay and his team. From the very first meeting, we knew we were in good hands. Jay took the time to sit down with us, listen to everything we wanted, and even created a digital rendering of our patio so we could actually visualize the finished project. He walked us through different paver options and helped us make decisions without ever making us feel pressured. It was clear from day one that he genuinely cared about creating something we would love. Throughout the entire project, Jay and his crew were professional, hardworking, respectful, and incredibly detail-oriented. You can tell they truly take pride in what they do. They showed up when they said they would, kept us informed every step of the way, and treated our home as if it were their own. When we finally saw the finished patio, we were blown away. It completely transformed our backyard and turned it into a space where we can’t wait to spend time with family and friends. The craftsmanship is beautiful, and every little detail exceeded our expectations. If you’re thinking about having a patio or landscaping project done, don’t hesitate—you won’t find a better company!
Exceptional company to work with. Knowledgeable, professional, and did exactly what we were expecting and more. Wouldn’t hire anyone else.
The people at Modern are very conscientious in performing their work.
