Two years ago, we finished a big house construction project and worked with Nancy in redoing our landscaping. She really listened to what we wanted including plants, flowers, colors and low maintenance upkeep. We were so pleased with her recommendations, the plantings and look of the flowers, plants and trees. The landscaping really enhanced our remodeled house. The majority of the landscaping survived the record snowy winter two years ago. We love how the flowers bloom at different times and how they are arranged in the garden. This last summer, the hydrangeas were amazing with a record number blooming. We highly recommend Nancy!
Nancy has great vision, a vast and comprehensive knowledge of plants, habitat, design and the ability to listen to customers needs and wants. I was fortunate to work with Nancy Mellen on a large project that was not only challenging, but difficult due the fact we had little to work with on the level of available information of the Condominium complex of 15 different buildings. Nancy helped my husband and I realise the front entry project that we had been dreaming about for 18 years. As do-it-ourselves, Nancy respected the fact that we would be doing the heavy-lifting on our own, and provided us with a planting plan that was well-suited to our desire for a low-maintenance design that incorporated a lot of native plantings. Her rates were very reasonable, and she left us with tons of information about each plant that was used as well as detailed upkeep instructions. Nancy did a great job!

There are so many garden designers to choose from, but few can understand your needs, desires and possibilities like Nancy does. She designed a hardscape that suited my historical home perfectly and always nicely nudged me in the right direction. She then designed the plantings for the entire property, choosing the right kind of plants and just the style I was looking for. I have gone back to Nancy several times over the years, and am about to put an addition on my house and will call on her skills again. Nancy's training and background are extensive - if you hire Nancy, you will have a true creative professional.
