If you like your neighbor, do not hire these guys!! Our neighbor hired them to pave a new driveway which was just completed. Last week the manager was here to paint out the driveway lines of how it would be laid out. Luckily I was home at the time this was being done as I noticed him painting into our property. So I nicely walked over and showed him where the property line is and he stated it would be corrected which was a satisfactory response for me. 2 days later the crew shows up to start work and the first thing they do is start to dig into my property for the new driveway. I am not the complaining type in anyway, I believe in live and let live - but this is too much, I had to let them know again where the property line is (different guy this time). So I walked over to make the new guys aware of my first conversation which no one knew anything about (this should be a huge red flag for anyone looking to hire them - total lack of communication, if he can't communicate with his guys then do you think he will communicate with you) and let them know that I am irritated by having to come over a second time. Our conversation seemed to have gone well and he even took a shovel and removed the base asphalt which they already laid. Well in the end, no one got the point, they still paved into our property and got the hell out of here so fast at the end of day, they left the road a complete mess for a half mile strip as they drove equipment (the paver and roller) down the road to load onto a trailer - I have never seen this before, why not load from customer property. I hope to see this contractor back today to clean the street and my property from this disaster. In the end, I do not believe they even pull permits as if they did, they would have known where the property line is and also the 10 foot set back which was completely ignored. I will update this review if things change.
HOMEOWNER BEWARE! Zero integrity! When these guys damage your property, it's all on you! Bob Mellen will give you the promise that he will repair what his guys have damaged, as a GOOD CONTRACTOR SHOULD DO, but he won't, even when it's in writing. Bob's worker banged his equipment into my brand new garage door and dented 2 panels, the bottom one being so damaged that water gets into my home. Bob Mellen had me sign a Release of Liability stating that he will cover the cost of the quote I received to repair my home, $850, and then he disappeared. Never to respond to my emails or phone call messages. The Liability stated I would receive payment in 5 DAYS, it has been 2 MONTHS NOW. I have contacted the BBB and I am preparing now to file a claim in court against Bob Mellen and New England Paving Services. Do yourself a favor homeowner, hire a better contractor, one who will do the proper thing and repair any damages caused by their negligence.
I’ve never used their services and never will. 2 men in a company truck were at ultra wash laundromat on plantation st in Worcester tonight very obviously smoking weed in the parking lot, hacking up a lung, cursing openly and loudly, and cat calling women who were just trying to do their laundry. Inappropriate, especially while representing a local business when kids were present. Clearly not the brightest bulbs and not anyone I would want doing work anywhere near my property.
