A yard refresh and an unfinished project draw sharply different accounts of New Village Landscape Inc. In an April 2025 Google review, a customer described flattening the yard, installing drainage piping, adding loam, topsoil and seed, and digging a small parking spot in front of the house. They said Joe provided a detailed written quote, arrived when promised and responded to requests during the project. In a February 2023 review, another customer said deadlines had slipped and work was left incomplete, leading them to bring in another company to continue it. New Village lists landscaping and lawn care on Thumbtack. That profile identifies Josias ‘Joe’ Garcia and describes the business as based in Cotuit; its listed address is in Hyannis. Google reported a 3.7-star average from six ratings in August 2026, while Thumbtack reported 4.6 stars from 16 ratings. Earlier customers described several kinds of outdoor work. A July 2020 Thumbtack reviewer said Joe met with them multiple times to answer questions and offer direction before they decided to proceed. They said the crew started on time and worked long days installing a sprinkler system and new lawn. Another July 2020 reviewer credited Josias and his crew with a new patio, including an accommodation for added square footage, and said the price was lower than six other estimates. A September 2021 Google reviewer described a new lawn, outdoor pavers, a firepit and weekly lawn maintenance at their home. The complaints concern follow-through as well as completion. In April 2025, a Thumbtack reviewer said an estimate visit had been arranged for after 4 p.m.; after 5 p.m., their call went to voicemail and they doubted the visit would happen. A September 2021 Google reviewer said that after eight or nine years of good service, calls and texts went unanswered, visits became inconsistent and conversations became rude. They described gaps of three or four weeks between lawn visits and a dispute over payment despite their attempts to ask about paying. Separately, a May 2024 Google customer said Joe and the crew had completed landscaping projects and recommended them.
Just had New Village complete a small yard refresh (flatten, install drainage piping, loam/topsoil/seed and dig a small parking spot in front of house by the road. Joe was great. We had looked at his mixed reviews and decided to take a chance and we couldn't be happier. He provided a detailed written quote, showed up when he said he would and was responsive to any mid-project requests. We will definitely call him again.
I spoke to this person yesterday he was supposed to come by today after 4 to give me an estimate. I asked him to let me know if he wasn't coming. It's now after 5 I called him it went to voicemail so I doubt he'll show up . I find more of these guys have no respect of my time. It's very disappointing.

Just as another reviewer mentioned started off great but as time and projects went on deadlines aren’t met and projects are left incomplete. Switched to another developer after a project was left incomplete and had to continue with another company
These guys were excellent for a the past 8-9 years, until now. Then they randomly stopped answering calls, became rude, stopped answering texts or showing up. They said they were going to travel out of the country and then no shows. This is the first and only year we’ve had issues, but the fact we can’t even get a hold of anybody for the grass is odd. They used to respond asap, then this year responded after we badgered them only. Now they are completely unresponsive to us. They used to be kind, but started to become rude this year as well. They would come one week and not show up for 3-4 weeks thereafter. They also accused me of trying to not pay them or something, but there are many instances I tried asking to pay them and they wouldn’t even respond to that, until the bill was higher then started to be aggressive, even though I had texted multiple times asking to pay them weeks/months prior. Wouldn’t recommend these guys again unless they became more consistent and reliable. All our grass is now well over 8in, getting new landscapers this week we hope, just please BE VERY CAREFUL!!
