Northeast Development is an excavation and yard site-work business. On Angi, the company describes itself as having 25 years of experience with gunite built-in pools, excavation, drainage, foundations, demolition, grading, and sewer and water installation. A 2025 customer said Northeast filled an old septic tank, graded the entire backyard, added a patio and front walkway, and finished with a new asphalt driveway on a property over an acre in size. A 2025 customer said Joe took on an excavation after they had gone 2 1/2 years without finding a contractor willing to do it, and that they then asked him to build a wall too. A 2024 customer said grading was done in the backyard for a new patio and a front walkway was added as well. A 2024 customer said the work was completed ahead of schedule. A 2025 customer said Joe, the owner, was always late by days, and that after a month a job he said would take four days was not half done, so they fired him. A 2025 customer with an expected three-day job said the company arrived at least three hours late every day, left broken pipe and sheetrock on site, destroyed the lawn and cracked the concrete driveway. A 2025 customer said they paid Joseph Garies in full for a bathroom remodel and veneer stone work at a BBQ area, and he did not show up on the days he promised. A 2024 customer said they paid Joe in full to excavate their property and he did not finish, and that after a $3,000 sump pump job there was still water near and around the pump. A 2024 customer called the basement work a hack job and said that after being paid, Joe sent them an insulting text.
