A downeast.com article says he moved back to Maine and started Norton Stoneworks, in a career rooted in dry stone construction that has spanned more than a quarter century. Its Houzz profile lists a Level 2 Certified Dry Stone Waller and Instructor certification from the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain. A 2025 customer said Joe Norton worked with them on design, budget and schedule for a project in midcoast Maine, and that the stone walls that were built were exactly what they wanted. That 2025 customer also said he was spot on with the budget. A 2025 customer, an artist, said Joe helped conceive the structural and practical sides of a large outdoor art installation in midcoast Maine. A 2024 customer wrote that they work with Joe regularly on stone installations, and that he and his team helped a visiting artist with design, troubleshooting and fabrication on an unusual installation. A 2025 customer said he has come through many times on projects for them.
