Otter Creek Electric is an electrical contractor with a 3.7-star Google rating from 3 ratings. A 2024 Google customer said they hired Jody for a complete rewire originally estimated at $25,000. That 2024 customer wrote that the project got off to a slow start, set them months behind in scheduling and cost them over $5,000 in lost wages and additional labor. The same 2024 reviewer said Jody would go weeks without responding, showed up without notice and did not show up at times he had committed to, and that updated estimates were never received when the scope changed. In that 2024 account, invoices near completion brought the total to more than $37,000 while the job was not yet done.

We hired Jody for a complete rewire originally estimated at $25,000. From the beginning, Jody was unreliable, communicated poorly, and lacked transparency. Jody got off to an incredibly slow start on this project, setting us months behind in scheduling and costing us over $5,000 in lost wages and additional labor to meet our deadline. During this time, we requested an updated timeline from him weekly, but the goalposts kept moving. He would go weeks without responding to us, show up without notice, and not show up during times he'd committed to. When we asked that he look at his schedule and give us an accurate updated timeline, he threatened to walk off the job. When the scope of work changed throughout the project, we requested updated estimates but never received them. We made our budget constraints clear to Jody from the beginning and made decisions based on his reassurances that we were within our budget and that he would "take good care of us." As the project neared completion, we received a flurry of invoices that brought the total cost of the project to more than $37,000--and the job's not even done yet! Jody's inability to maintain a schedule, communicate clearly, or provide even basic cost transparency caused us significant stress and financial strain. I hope others can avoid the mistake we made when we hired him.
