A chimney cover blew off on a Sunday before a nor'easter; in a January 2021 Angi review, the customer said Steve called back inside of 30 minutes, replaced it within a couple of hours and sent pictures of work they could not see from the ground. Over The Top Chimney Care, based in Stratford, is built on that kind of call, and its Angi page shows 4.9 stars from 111 ratings, with written reviews from 2020 to 2025. The jobs go well past sweeps. In an August 2020 review, a customer in a 100 yr. old house said the company replaced dampers, lined one chimney, repaired the floor of one fireplace, cleaned both chimneys and repaired their tops. Another August 2020 customer described re-pointing, a new flue and fireplace repair, with the crew cleaning up each day. A January 2021 customer with no heat said Steve found the chimney blocked, unblocked it and put in a liner. The newest written review, from July 2025, says Steve reset bluestone on the offset of a chimney and added a silicone seal at a fair price. The one sharp complaint is from February 2024. A customer paid $150 plus tax for a chimney inspection and said the inspector looked in the attic, fireplace and basement but did not get on the roof of their two-story house, missing crown cracks and mortar gaps that other companies photographed. In an August 2021 review, another customer said the work cost a little more than expected and came with a 10-year warranty. The company says it has over 10 years in the industry and lists cleanings, inspections, liners, caps, crowns, repointing, chase covers, flashing repair and stove and furnace flue service. The Better Business Bureau rates it A+.
