Driveway replacement is the work P & S Paving gets hired for. A recent customer had an old single-car driveway removed and replaced, with the asphalt around the garage molding and flower bed block neatly done. The company says it has been in business 35 years and lists a service area running from Seymour and New Haven to Stamford and Greenwich. On Google it holds 4.7 stars from 160 ratings. A recent customer said the crew showed up when scheduled and the whole project was done in two days. A recent reviewer said the company held to the price it had given a year earlier. A recent customer had a new section of driveway paved and the rest graded, and called the price the most competitive of multiple quotes. In a 2024 review, a customer described a 2,200-square-foot driveway repaved plus 90 feet of Belgian block reset or repaired and 30 feet of new block installed, done in four stages over more than four weeks; that 2024 customer said the cost was what they bid. A recent customer paid an extra $7,000 for a 900-gallon dry well under a new driveway, said the pooling continued, and said follow-up calls to the office were never returned. A recent customer said they did not show up for a scheduled service. A recent customer said a sealing job on an existing driveway was peeling after six months. In a 2025 review, a customer who paid $115,000 for a driveway and repointed patios called the masonry work a disaster, describing cement dust blown into flower beds and grout that cracked once it dried. A 2022 customer said the driveway was misgraded and left a puddle. An nhregister.com article says a town and its Inland Wetlands Commission brought an action in Superior Court in Milford against P & S Paving Inc. Connecticut lists two active home improvement contractor registrations for it: HIC.0577662, held by P & S Paving Inc, and HIC.0548004, held by Philip Marini Jr.
“The town and Inland Wetlands Commission recently filed the action in Superior Court in Milford against P & S Paving Inc., and John and Anna Fanotto of North Street, who own the property at 459 North Main St.”
I recently got my driveway paved by P&S Paving. When they came out for the estimate i explained to them that i had an issue with water pooling in my driveway due to runoff water not having anywhere to go to as the dry well i already had was not getting rid of the water. The owner and his son (im bad with names so unfortunately do not remember theirs) quoted me a price for the driveway ($12k) and said that for another $7k, they can install a 900 gallon dry well under the driveway that would be sure to address the pooling issue i was facing and not damage the new driveway. The father said that once ground was broken he would be able to tell instantly whether the 900 gallon dry well would resolve the issue or not. Based on my conversation with them and the quote given, i decided to proceed. This is where things started to not be as pleasant as i would have liked. Their communication was lacking when it came to scheduling the work and i had to constantly call them to follow up on status as to when it would begin. Almost two months later they were able to schedule the job. Once they started, things appeared to start smooth. They dug the hole for the 900 gallon dry well and after the hole was dug, the dry well installed and gravel and dirt was added, water was present without any rain having fallen. None of the owners came to assess the installation. The workers onsite insured me that they made the hole wider and added more gravel and that it would address the water issue. The dry well was installed and the driveway paved. It looked great and was properly pitched but the rain came and the pooling followed. Initially i chalked it up to it having been the severe rainstorms that hit us with an inundated amount of rain. After a week the water was no longer present at top of the driveway but sat at the brim of the grate to the dry well. I had reached out to the company and they said that it was a massive rainfall and to give it time. As more rain would fall, pooling continued so i reached out to them again via phone and email. Again i had to follow up with them because they were not responsive. Finally the father (owner) came out to look at the issue and said he was sorry this was happening. He said that some things are beyond their control when they did everything as they were supposed to. I reminded him of our initial conversation when he said he would be able to assess the ground once the hole was dug but he never came out to assess. Apparently the ground is very clay-ish and does not absorb the water as fast as regular soil/dirt would. He apologized and said that he would try to help me in someway and would speak to his partner and get back to me. I never heard back from him again. I followed up with the office and both times they said they would check with him and get back to me. Nobody ever did. So after basically being guaranteed the issue would be resolved with the dry well, i paid an extra $7k for nothing. I had a new driveway but now even more restricted because the grate to the dry well where the water pools from was basically in the middle of my driveway preventing us from being able to park our cars. I was left with having to figure out a resolution on my own and lose $7k. Had my driveway only required paving i would have given the company 5 stars but because of the upsell and their lack of communication and efforts to help resolve my problem, it led to the 2 stars. They should focus on following through and actively communicating with the customer.
They did a great job. Very clean and fast. The rain/water now flows correctly on the new driveway!
They didn't show up for a scheduled service, and I've been trying to get them on the phone for over a week now--nothing. Disappointing.
I had a very pleasant experience with P & s Paving inc.. They did an outstanding job!! Completely removed my old driveway and installed a beautiful new one!! They also held to the price they gave me a year ago!! I totally recommend them!! Thank you!!
Outstanding experience getting a new driveway installed with P&S Paving . Work crew went above and beyond , moved all my patio furniture and cleared the work site . Deanna , the office manager kept us informed on the scheduling details … she’s an absolute pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend P&S Paving .
