A 2025 Google reviewer wrote that Mark Padula carries on a site work and excavation family business his father began in the Canterbury/Gilmanton/Laconia area nearly 50 years ago. On Google, Padula Excavating holds a 4.9-star average from 36 ratings. A recent customer said Mark and his crew replaced a sewer line running about 30 feet from the house to the town street connection, starting around 8:30 and finishing by 2:30, with a French drain pipe over the line along the way. A 2025 customer whose leach field was failing said Mark talked them through the process step by step, from the new septic plan through excavating, installing the system, the inspection and finishing the area to be ready to seed. A 2025 customer with toilet trouble said Mark came right out, exposed the septic tank and found a filter on the outlet; cleaning it fixed the problem for a reasonable price. A 2024 customer said Mark arranged for an engineer for the design and plan approval of a new septic system. A 2023 reviewer with a quarter-mile driveway said Padula Excavating placed 4 culverts, installed water bars, ditched, graded and installed crushed stone and gravel. A 2022 customer said Mark replaced a failed culvert that ran through the middle of the property. A 2022 customer said Mark removed stumps from a recently logged lot and built an initial driveway and culvert to the town's specifications, with a final cost consistent with the estimate. A 2025 reviewer said Mark walked the job site, gave an estimate within a few hours and saved them from an expensive purchasing and planning mistake. A 2022 customer said the team gave a 2 month lead time, showed up the day they said they would, and texted ahead on a heavy rain day when they would not be there.
Mark and his team are fantastic. He was able to get the job done in 2 days. The quality of his work is excellent and his quote was very reasonable. I highly recommend him for any landscaping work.
My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Mark and his crew who were hired to replace our sewer line from the house to the town street connection ~30' away. They started at 8.30ish and after a 45° connection here, replace some old clay pipe, another 45° connection replacement there, a hiccup with a French drain pipe I had running over a section of the sewer line, they were completely finished by 2.30p. Unbelievable. My sewer line was a mix of new PVC (probably to replace broken clay pipes) and the old clay and various connections. The before photo does not fully show the scope of work that was done. The after photo is amazing. Mark and the guys took pride in their work. Mark mentioned he was contemplating retiring. I suggest you get him before that happens. Thank you!
Mark was excellent to work with. He and his crew installed a new leach field (pipe and stone) and resurfaced our gravel driveway at an extremely competitive price. More importantly, the work was well done and he stayed true to his quote even reducing it by a couple hundred due to not needing as much material. He was very responsive and professional. I would highly recommend reaching out to him if you have any earth work that needs to be completed.
First of all, please note, Google has this business location incorrect. The actual location is 8.6 miles further south on Route 106, directly south of Rocky Pond and Allen Mills Road. Mark Padula continues to carry on the strong history of this site work and excavation family business, begun by his father in the Canterbury/Gilmanton/Laconia area nearly 50 years ago. Mark is reliable, dependable, talented, and highly professional. Everything from the initial phone call to the estimate to mobilization, the job itself, and the culminating clean-up are all completed in the most reliable, honest, talented, and highly professional way possible. Padula's business expertise reaches far beyond site work, however -- his local connections with building departments and town offices mean he often knows the right questions to ask, and is often able to advise you how to move forward with your project. I am grateful to have called him this spring instead of any of the larger businesses in the area -- he was able to walk my job site with me, give me an estimate within a few hours, and ultimately saved me from a highly expensive purchasing and planning mistake. I can't guarantee that he'll know as much about YOUR job site options, but you will NOT regret giving him a call!!!
Great work at a great price. Mark was very professional and super friendly. Will definitely work with Padula Excavation again.
