Paramount Paving LLC paves driveways, and a recent customer named Isaac as its owner. A 2025 customer recommended "Paramount Paving in Old Town, ME" after a driveway job. A recent customer, a retired civil engineer, said they performed the base course work, laid a generous thickness of asphalt and ensured proper gradients for stormwater drainage. A 2025 customer said 5 layers of asphalt had to be removed, which required 36 tons of rock and gravel, before 12 tons of asphalt went down. That 2025 customer said Isaac did a water test to show how the water drains away from the home. A recent customer said Isaac provided a reasonable quote the next day and was paving by the end of the week. A recent customer wrote that weeds began growing up through the pavement within the first month of completion. That customer also reported soft asphalt near the garage and pavement that has sunk in, said the company stood by its work at an inspection, and said another paving company quoted over $6,000 to correct the issues. A recent customer said the reclaim was not tamped down and was still loose and spongy, and was still waiting to hear back after being told the company would fix the driveway. A recent customer called Sal very rude. A 2022 customer who hired Issac for a recycled asphalt driveway said grass was growing through it in less than 8 months, and that he refused to fix it and no longer answered calls or text messages.
UPDATE! It has been over a year since Paramount Paving LLC completed our driveway, and unfortunately, our experience has gotten worse. Not only have we had ongoing concerns about the quality of the work, but the process of trying to get someone to address those concerns has been incredibly frustrating. Within the first month of completion, weeds began growing up through the pavement. We have also experienced several other issues, including soft asphalt near our garage, pavement that has sunk in, and indentations left by our lawn chairs after sitting on the driveway for no more than five minutes on a day when the temperature was only around 60 degrees. What makes these problems particularly concerning is that they are not occurring across the entire driveway. The issues are concentrated on one half of the driveway, specifically the area where the pavement is noticeably softer. This raises legitimate questions about whether the preparation, installation, or compaction was consistent throughout the project. After months of trying to contact the owner and another employee, both of whom have been extremely difficult to reach, we finally got someone to come out and inspect the issues. It took approximately two months of back-and-forth communication just to get to that point. During the inspection, they stated that they stand by the quality of their work and attributed the problems to the quality of the pavement that was laid. We found this explanation difficult to accept, especially considering that the issues are concentrated on only one half of the driveway rather than affecting the entire surface. Regardless of the explanation, we expected a more thorough assessment of why this particular section is soft, has developed indentations, and has sunk near the garage. It has now been at least two weeks since that inspection, and despite additional attempts to contact them, we are once again being met with no response. After spending months simply trying to get someone to look at the problem, it is extremely disappointing to be left without answers or a clear plan to resolve these issues. A new driveway is a significant investment, and we expected it to be installed properly and hold up to normal use for years. Instead, we have dealt with weeds emerging within weeks, soft and sinking pavement, indentations under ordinary use, and months of difficulty getting the company to respond to our concerns. Our frustration is no longer just about the condition of the driveway; it is also about the lack of communication and follow-through. We gave Paramount Paving LLC ample time and multiple opportunities to address our concerns. They eventually inspected the driveway, stated that they stood by their work, and have since stopped responding to our attempts to follow up. Based on our experience, we are extremely disappointed and would strongly encourage anyone considering Paramount Paving LLC to do their research, ask detailed questions about site preparation and compaction, and get clear written information about warranties and how workmanship concerns will be handled. In our case, both the condition of the driveway and the difficulty getting a response have fallen well short of our expectations. To make matters worse, we had another paving company come out to assess the problems and provide a quote to correct the issues with our driveway. The estimate came back at over $6,000 just to fix the problems we have experienced. This is an additional, significant expense that we never anticipated after investing in a newly paved driveway. We are now faced with the prospect of spending thousands more to address issues that appeared shortly after the original job was completed, all while struggling to get a response from the company that performed the work in the first place. In our opinion, both the condition of the driveway and the lack of communication and follow-through have fallen well short of what a customer should reasonably expect.
This is the letter I sent to them minus my name and address! I am letting you know that upon further inspection of my driveway I noticed that pretty much everything you guys did was way below standards and half ass like nobody cared to do a good job at all. I gave the lower part of the driveway 8 days, 1 day more than the 7 days you told us to wait, before I drove on it! None of the reclaim was tamped down good at all and is still loose and spongy. There are big holes around the edges of the driveway that filled with water Monday night which will erode and get under the driveway. The driveway between the trailer and the garage is so loose that when I drive on it, it still leaves ruts and spots filled with water there also. No water ran down off the driveway like it was supposed to! The driveway from the end of the trailer to the deck is not straight across and even! When looking at the front steps the left corner of the pavement had water covering it Monday night in the rain! Then there’s the front yard that was supposed to be filled in where it has sunk, one bucket of dirt and rocks from the driveway was pushed onto the upper part and left! This was supposed to be fixed so I could plant grass this spring like we had discussed! Same with the backyard from just before the back door to the end of the trailer that only got part way filled with dirt and rocks that was already here and left half of the backyard all rutted so no planting grass out there either. Dirt and rocks just got dumped by the back door and not even tamped down or level then had reclaim dumped on top which was also not tamped down! I heard you mention that you were waiting for the truck of fill to show up which I know didn’t show up! I really needed to have by the back door finished properly so I could get the small deck and stairs installed for insurance reasons! I also saw a tamper machine sitting out there that was never used which would have made a big difference! This was supposed to be done weeks ago and I waited patiently for you guys to come here to work half a day then pack up the equipment before even checking with me! Now I don’t think I can get plowed all winter without all the reclaim being plowed up with the snow! I believe now that it’s not fixable until spring because of the very cold temperatures and now we have snow sitting on it! Plus the ground is freezing up also! I can’t have you come back now to do anything until spring and I am not paying any more money until it is done properly! It would have been a reasonable price if it had been done correctly and finished but now it’s worse than before they came here! Now I’m going to have to take them to court for the damage they caused and left! I would not recommend them at all and they should be ashamed of themselves for the mess they left me in! It’s like they didn’t even want to be here that day! I would have been better off if they had just given my deposit back and said sorry that they couldn’t do it! Disgraceful! So now I’m still waiting for them to contact me again after I was told that they would come and at least fix the driveway and not charge me anything else! This is what I dealt with in the first place and they waited until the last minute to show up! I told them I would take down this review if they fixed the driveway that has now turned into just rocks because the tar got washed away leaving just rocks! I’m getting very upset since I haven’t heard anything from them again and the rocks end up in my boot and sneaker treads and get brought into the house and my car plus the rocks hurt my dog’s paws when I take them out! I’m going to give them one more week to set up a date and time to come fix this and if they don’t get ahold of me I’ll be filing court papers! Anyone that has had a good experience with them should feel lucky they weren’t their last job of the season! Even more disappointed than before!
Put us on the schedule right away and finished up in less than a day. Quick, efficient, hard workers! It looks amazing. 10 out of 10!
They are a bunch of hard worker. They work efficiently and like a well oiled machine. Everyone know just what to do and how to do it. They did a Superior job on our driveway. We love it! I highly recommend them to pave your driveway. Dan in Eddington.
Isaac was very easy to work with and he and his crew were very precise in their work. It’s obvious they know their jobs, they work well as a team, and everything flowed smoothly. After the pavement was laid, they made sure everything was put back as it had been and in some cases, even better! So happy to have them do our driveway.
