In a 2024 review, a homeowner described PEMA taking down a three-story pine and pruning three other tall trees in three hours. That kind of demanding tree work is the clearest thread across the reviews: tree removal and trimming, often in tight spaces, with crews praised for promptness, careful setup, and cleanup. The company’s own site describes tree removal, trimming, pruning, and stump grinding across Massachusetts, and says it has more than 10 years in business. Angi and HomeAdvisor each display 4.8 from 617 ratings; the 28 written reviews cited here span 2020–2024, so the detailed examples are useful history rather than a fresh read on today’s crew. The strongest accounts are specific. A 2022 HomeAdvisor reviewer praised the crew’s work with chainsaws and cranes in awkward locations; a 2020 Angi reviewer described removing a fallen tree from a cramped space. In 2021, a customer praised a multi-day landscaping project, and another described a tree-pruning job that preserved shade. Those older reviews point to both tree work and landscaping, though the more consistent focus is tree care. There are two dated landscaping complaints to ask about plainly. In 2021, one customer said a mulch job was left incomplete and cigarette butts were left on the property; another said a promised follow-up after a landscaping estimate never came. They are not evidence of a current pattern, but they make it sensible to confirm the scope, cleanup, and who will follow up before booking landscaping work. PEMA looks like a better fit for substantial tree removal or pruning than for a homeowner seeking a current, well-documented landscaping track record. Ask for a written scope and cleanup plan, and confirm timing and follow-up before work begins.

We had PEMA remove a 3 story pine tree and prune 3 other tall trees around the yard. Luis C. came out on a Thursday to provide an estimate. He showed up on time, and was friendly and polite. I wanted to get the job done so I didn’t get other estimates, but the price seemed fair enough and the work could be done early the next week. Due to a last minute cancellation, they offered to come at 8AM the next day so I agreed. The four man crew showed up on time and were done within 3 hours. The crew was polite and for the most part did everything I expected pros would do. They marked the irrigation system as to not damage sprinkler heads and lines, and put down boards for the machines to drive on as to not destroy the lawn. Using a remote controlled bucket lift they took down the 3 story pine tree, pruned the other trees, shredded all the debris, and then ground down the stump using a remote controlled stump grinder. They did a good job of cleaning up the yard, patio, and driveway, but I had realistic expectations since sawdust ends up everywhere. The only two things I wish they had done would be to have put a board in front of the house before stump grinding (they did it about halfway through so dirt was left on the house siding and in the window wells), and placed runners on the patio for the machines (it left black wheel/track marks on the concrete pavers, which didn’t hose off, but I may need to scrub). Either way I was satisfied with the work. The crew even moved the patio furniture back for me.
Great job!
Great work, very efficient.
Best pricing of the several quotes we received. Worked carefully in tight quarters. Able to schedule quickly.
They were very professional and courteous. Crew was prompt and completed work faster than I expected. You could tell by watching that they were a very experienced, skilled crew. Will definitely hire PEMA for future work.
