Precision Painting Plus of New Haven holds 4.7 stars from 30 Google ratings, and its written history on Google, HomeAdvisor and Angi runs back to 2020. A 2026 customer on HomeAdvisor gave 4 stars after the company scraped, primed and top-coated a two-story house and detached garage, but said the painters left scraped paint chips in the lawn, gravel and mulch and had to return to caulk gaps and clean drips. A 2026 customer gave 3 stars, saying edge lines were not cleanly done. A 2025 customer said the painters repainted exterior trim up to 30+ feet high and around solar panels in two days, and that the quoted price was the final price. That same 2025 customer said paying was a hassle and a personal check took 6 weeks to be cashed. A 2025 customer said the company did sheet rock and painting on schedule after ceiling damage in a hair salon. A 2025 customer gave 2 stars, saying paint was peeling almost everywhere 2.5 years after the house was painted, and that patching before the one-year guarantee left it even worse. A 2023 customer with a large, odd-shaped house said the job was completed in two weeks at a reasonable price. A 2023 customer said the company responded within ten minutes and sent a representative for an estimate the next day. A 2023 customer gave 3 stars, saying a $700 job ended up costing nearly $1000 after a separate bill for materials, and that interior paint was used on the exterior of the home. A 2022 customer gave 2 stars, saying coverage was poor in places, trim was sloppy and paint was splattered on furniture, floors and windows. A 2022 customer said the painters turned out to be subcontractors hired by the company, and that it never came back to make the job right. A 2022 customer said a single coat of paint went on the walls, which needed another coat, and that nothing followed after the company came out and took pictures. A 2020 customer on Angi said the company sanded, washed and painted their siding. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0664924, as active, held by Precision Painting Plus.
Decent job, edge lines were not cleanly done
Scraped primed and top coated 2 story house and detached garage. An amazing pair of painters, working without tarps. That was my only complaint, because towards the end, hurried by rain delays and the foreman, they left a lot of scraped paint chips that wouldn't budge with a blower from damp lawn, gravel and mulch I had to clean up. I also had to have them return to caulk gaps and clean drips they'd missed when rushed. Otherwise would have earned 5 stars plus.
Precision Painting was able to schedule my exterior painting job relatively quickly and the job only took two days. Their quote was competitive and seemed fair for the job requested. The price I was quoted was the final price I paid and there were no hidden charges or surprise expenses that occurred later. The painters did minor repairs (wood putty where needed) and re-painted my exterior trim white, up to 30+ feet high and around my existing solar panels without issue. The two painters that did the job were cordial and cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. My only "complaint" (and why I leave 4 stars) is that paying for the service was a bit of a hassle in the sense that Zelle only allows a certain amount of money to be transferred in a 30 day window. I had to pay my deposit as two separate transactions to circumvent the restriction, but then was not able to pay the remaining balance of the project because it fell within the 30 day window. I therefore wrote a personal check to pay the final balance and it took 6 weeks for them to finally cash the check.
I’m so happy I chose Precision Painting Plus. I had damage to my ceiling in my hair salon so it was very important that the sheet rock and painting be done on schedule to ensure I was able to get back to work quickly. They absolutely followed through and did a beautiful job!
Had the house painted 2.5 years ago and almost everywhere the paint is peeling. Had them come out before the one year guarantee and they patched parts up but it’s even worse now. They didn’t paint under cables (picture), didn’t paint behind two bushes, really poor hand work for the detail and never went done to the wood.
