Precision Tree Service LLC says it serves homeowners and businesses across Aroostook, Penobscot and Piscataquis counties, and it describes itself as 13 years in business. Its stated service area runs from Houlton and New Limerick to Island Falls, Oakfield, Hodgdon and Linneus. A recent customer watched Joel Philbrook strap on spurs, a harness and climbing ropes to go up a 90+ foot white birch, after they were not able to use the bucket truck for that particular removal. That customer said Joel brought the tree down section by section with his son's assistance, with branches guided by ropes away from buildings. A customer who wanted a few trees overhanging their buildings removed said Joel and Jack did more than quoted and even cleaned up a brush pile. A stump-grinding customer said Joel came out to quote the job and was able to do it the same day. A customer with several very large, top-heavy trees encroaching on their home said the bid never changed and the work happened on the scheduled day and time. In a 2025 review, a customer said Joel and his son Jack removed a large tree surrounded by phone and power lines. That 2025 customer said Joel and Jack later removed two poplars, each over 80 feet, by lowering sections between three sets of residential power lines. A 2025 customer whose tree fell onto their house and propane tank said Joel came out first thing the next morning and got the tree off the tank so it could be inspected. A 2025 reviewer said Joel removed 8 large trees on the property at a fair price. One recent customer said they did a great job but thought the extra charge for short notice was still a little pricey.

I was looking for professionals who could get the job done to remove a few trees that were overhanging our buildings. Joel and Jack did a tremendous job! They did more then quoted and even cleaned up a brush pile I had. I strongly recommend them to anyone needing the work to be thorough, professional and beyond what is quoted. You cannot hire a better team.
Joel and his son did an amazing job with several very large top heavy trees encroaching at our home here, he followed through and the bid never changed, the price was very fair , but most of all the clean up and care of getting it done safely and correctly giving us a lot more peace of mind moving forward, all in the scheduled day and time as promised, one of the only contractors we have had here to do that on any work on our home , very professional and honest- as well as timely . We would happily use his company again and confidently recommend their company to others- great experience!
Great work, affordable, and quick!
Highly recommend Joel Philbrook of Precision Tree Service LLC for all your tree work! Joel is responsive and knowledgeable in the tree management industry. He skillfully explains what he thinks needs to be done. After he visited our small farm to evaluate the work and provide a quote, he arrived, with his son Jack, on the scheduled day, reviewed the plan of action with us and went to work! Upon completion we couldn’t be more pleased with the results! Again, highly recommend Joel, Jack and Precision Tree Service LLC for all your tree needs!
