Across a decade of reviews, one thing repeats: this is a cabinet-refinishing shop dressed up as a kitchen remodeler. Premiere Pros, a Hingham husband-and-wife team working the South Shore, says on its site it specializes in kitchen remodeling and cabinetry, but the actual jobs customers describe — refacing dated cabinets, spraying and curing new paint in its own workshop, swapping hardware — are almost all about the cabinets, not gut renovations. The written record runs long: 26 reviews from 2015 through 2026 across Houzz, Angi, HomeAdvisor and BBB, and the overwhelming majority are five-star, with customers naming Joe and Kristen Hernandez directly and describing quick turnarounds — a 2020 review says a full cabinet refresh took just three days. Houzz, Angi and HomeAdvisor all put it at 4.8 stars, and it's picked up repeat Best of Houzz service awards from 2014 through 2021. But that long run of praise is mostly old: only one review has landed in the last six months, and it isn't a good one — a June 2026 Houzz review reports cabinet paint chipping and peeling three years after the job, following an earlier repaint the company blamed on defective paint. A 2024 review separately describes the company stepping away from a job mid-project, which it answered publicly by saying its team didn't feel comfortable continuing and stepped down so the client could find someone else; a 2022 review describes a different job finishing well past its agreed date, with another customer's carpentry work turning up in the client's space along the way. The company calls itself "fully licensed and insured" on its own site and its Houzz profile, but neither names a license number, trade, or registry to check. Its BBB file also doesn't quite line up with its own story — BBB lists a 1976 start date and 50 years in business against the company's own account of a 2006 founding, and BBB's service list (roofing, siding, power-washing) reflects an older "Premiere Painting & Renovations" trade line rather than the kitchen-and-cabinetry work reviews describe today. For a cabinet refresh — refacing, repainting, new hardware — this is a team with a long, mostly happy track record behind it. Given the recent chipping complaint, it's worth asking specifically what paint and prep process they use now and what warranty covers peeling down the line.
