Roberts Design & Construction is a Hingham general contractor run by president Brian Roberts, with a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration that's currently active. The company says on its Better Business Bureau profile that it's been in business 20 years, incorporated in 2007, and has been a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating since 2008. The one written review on file is a striking one: a homeowner who interviewed five contractors for a full home renovation picked Brian's team, calling them the most professional and responsive of the group and noting he listened to their ideas, added his own, and adjusted when plans changed. That's the only detailed account available, though — the company's written record is thin, just that one review from 2022 spread across five sources online. Worth knowing before calling: Google shows an overall rating of 3 stars from 2 ratings, lower than the one written 5-star review on file — there's no text attached to the other rating to say what pulled it down, so it's worth asking directly about recent work if that matters to you. BBB lists the company under general contracting, roofing, siding, window installation, and kitchen and bathroom remodeling, so it looks set up to handle both smaller trade work and bigger renovation projects — the one documented job was a full-home renovation, which is the strongest evidence of what they can do.
Brian and his team did a superb job on the full renovation of our home. We interviewed five contractors and Brian was by far the most professional and responsive. Throughout the initial design process, he listened to our ideas, added his own, and was able to pivot when we made minor shifts. Brian cares deeply about the final product - he personally came over every time to check on the work of his team and all subcontractors. He stayed within the predicted budget and adjusted his crew as necessary when inevitable (and completely outside his control) delays arose due to supply chain issues. If he didn't like the end result of any work, he redid it at his expense (example: our bathroom floor, once tiled, sat ~1" below the hallway floor - he picked up on this issue (we didn't!) and retiled the bathroom at his expense to fix it). He worked with other contractors we hired (i.e. window replacement) seamlessly and patiently. We couldn't be happier with the final result and would highly recommend Brian and his team to anyone considering a project of any size!
