PRO New England (Professional Remodeling Organization - New England)

PRO New England isn't a company that shows up to remodel a kitchen — it's the trade group that many of the companies who do belong to. Based in Newton Centre and run by executive director John Marchiony, it's a nonprofit (also filed as the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of NARI) that BBB records as started and incorporated in 1989, and it has held an A+ BBB rating since becoming accredited in 2015. Its own site is direct about what it actually does: certification programs, industry events, and an annual PRO Awards gala that recognizes member companies for their remodeling work. It doesn't pull permits or run job sites itself, and it represents more than 200 member organizations — architects, designers, builders, and trades — across the region. A few directories haven't caught that distinction; one lists it as a "Kitchen & Bath Remodel" business in Newton, which is a mislabel rather than a service PRO New England performs. The only reviews on file are two 5-star Google ratings, both from 2024, and they read like member testimonials about the organization rather than homeowners describing a finished job — there's no customer track record to weigh here, because there's no remodeling work to review. If you're looking for someone to actually do the work, PRO New England's real use is as a lookup: its "Find a Member" directory can point to individual remodeling companies in its network, and each of those should be checked on its own record — not on PRO New England's BBB grade or its decades as an association.
