Every public rating Quintessential Interiors has — three on Google, eleven on Houzz — is five stars. Linda Rubin runs the South Shore Massachusetts interior design practice by herself out of Weymouth, and by her own account she's been at it a long time: her site says she opened the business shortly after finishing Newbury College's interior design program in 2001, though it also cites 18 years in business, and the Better Business Bureau's own file puts her start around 2009. Those numbers don't line up cleanly, but on any of them this is a practice with real history, not a new one. What people who hired her keep saying is some version of "she never let me down." One client, quoted this February on a contractor-ranking site, put it exactly that way, describing two separate projects that both went smoothly. Houzz backs that up with two awards, three badges, and a past feature on HGTV's Designer's Challenge, and her own site cites a "Best of Houzz" mention. None of it amounts to a deep paper trail — fourteen combined ratings is modest for someone describing close to two decades of client work — but there's no negative account anywhere in what's public either. One thing worth asking about directly: the Better Business Bureau lists her as not accredited and says it doesn't have enough information to rate her at all. That's a separate system from Houzz's own badges, so it doesn't necessarily point to a problem on its own, but it means there's no independent BBB read to lean on. Her stated service area is Hingham and Norwell, so confirm she covers your town before reaching out. For a homeowner planning design work that runs from space planning through picking contractors and managing the project — rather than a single task — Rubin is a one-person operation whose reviews and recognition line up consistently, even if there simply aren't many of them yet. Worth asking upfront about current availability and how she structures the project timeline.

I usually avoid writing reviews, but if there is anybody who deserves 5 stars it is Linda! She check all the boxes you want in an interior designer / decorator (she has an amazing eye, she learns your style quickly, she's responsive, she's upbeat and positive without being fake, she's respectful of budgets, etc) but what really sets Linda apart in my opinion is how she keeps everything hassle-free. In the two projects I've done with Linda, she has never let me down. She goes above and beyond so in the end you have exactly what you hoped for while having zero stress. Whether you're a newbie like me or a veteran homeowner, you won't regret reaching out to her. All the compliments I have about my home I owe to Linda!

We removed a wall in our house to give it that opened up atmosphere…. We hired Linda to help us with furniture selection, window treatments, lightening and paint colors. Linda was extremely helpful and made us feel at ease with her expertise to decorate. We met with Linda to discuss types of furnishings we had in mind. Linda was quick to send us a furniture plan to give us an idea of what we could expect. Linda went shopping and picked out furnishings that would work for us. It was such a benefit for us, as She picked out furnishings in three different furniture stores and narrowed down our options which was so helpful to us. Once decided Linda was quick to take us shopping to pick out fabrics for furniture and window treatments. She has wonderful taste and such an eye for picking out the perfect fabrics, paint colors and lighting. Linda was quick to order fabrics and always keeping us up to date as far as lead times on all the items. We felt that Linda expedited our project, and was very attentive. I would hire Linda again for any project we have in the future and highly recommend her to other clients. Linda was nothing but a pleasure to work with!
