R P Marzilli & Company is a landscape contractor based in Medway, MA. On its website it says it has delivered residential landscapes across New England since 1985 and describes itself as a full service landscape contractor working in landscape construction, masonry and maintenance. A 2026 review describes about two years with Marzilli Landscaping: the initial landscaping construction went reasonably well, but the ongoing maintenance service was very disappointing. It lists multiple incorrect charges on monthly invoices, a bill of approximately $1,200 for a fall cleanup that another company had already completed, and an irrigation system that was not turned on at the start of the season. That review also says their crew damaged the paint on the house shingles, and that repairing part of the damage took about six months. Another 2026 review describes waiting almost a month for a quote, only to be told they had not worked on it and would not do that work. A 2026 review from January credits the Medway team with amazing communication. In a 2017 review, R.P. Marzilli was the landscape contractor for a historic home renovated on Cape Anne north of Boston, with the landscape described as having really come into its own two years after construction. In a 2014 review, Flavin Architects called RP Marzilli Landscaping highly qualified in landscape construction, from stone patios and garden walls to planter beds. A separate 2014 review of a project in Hingham, MA called Marzilli professional, efficient and collaborative with the client, architect and general contractor. In 2024, Boston Magazine credited R. P. Marzilli & Company with landscape construction. In 2017, Boston Design Guide wrote that the company was called upon to collaborate on the recreation of a historic private garden in Newport, Rhode Island.

Wasted a whole day touring properties to get quoted. Waited for almost a month just to be told they hadn't even gotten around to working on the quote and that they won't do that work. For the work they would do, their quote was 5x equal quality professionals.
One of there drivers ran a stop sign on south main street almost hitting my vehicle with a baby inside then proceeded to flip us off
I used Marzilli Landscaping for about two years. They completed our initial landscaping construction, which went reasonably well. However, our experience with their ongoing landscape maintenance service was very disappointing. Several issues occurred during the service period: 1. There were multiple incorrect charges on our monthly invoices. 2. We were charged for work that was not performed. For example, we were billed approximately $1,200 for fall cleanup in late December even though another company had already completed the cleanup in mid-December. 3. Our irrigation system was not turned on at the start of the season. I only discovered this in the middle of the summer, after our landscaping had already suffered significant damage. 4. Their crew damaged the paint on our house shingles during service. Although they eventually repaired part of the damage, it took about six months. Because of the delay, the issue worsened and affected additional shingles. When they returned with paint, they declined to repair the remaining small affected area. Due to these issues, our landscaping has deteriorated and now requires significant additional work to restore. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend their maintenance services.
RP Marzilli was great until 2022 when it was aquired by Mariani Enterprises marking its transition to a private equity-backed operating subsidiary. These private equity firms are buying out veterinarians, dentists and real estate companies across the country and destroying small businesses and their communities. Please choose a local small business with it's roots in the community and not a private equity firm.
