Resendes Electric is a Swansea electrical contractor run by owner Carlos 'Charlie' Resendes, operating under this name for about 20 years according to its Better Business Bureau profile, which carries an A+ grade. The reviews on file are mixed: strong praise for the crew's actual work sits alongside repeated complaints about reaching the business. A 2024 review and an October 2025 review both describe the crew, Charlie included, as professional, efficient, and reasonably priced, with one customer using them repeatedly for both a business and a home. But a 2025 review from a customer of about eight years says that while the crew's work is good, Charlie himself is hard to reach — calls and texts go unanswered and scheduling isn't predictable — and a 2023 review reports a voicemail that was never returned. A May 2025 review from a renter describes the crew wiring new smoke detectors while she was at work and leaving a dusty, dirty work area behind. The oldest account on file, from 2018, describes outlets that weren't properly grounded, which another electrician later had to redo. The state has an active Massachusetts electrician license verified for the business. Older, unverified directory listings also show a journeyman electrician license that expired in 2016 and a separate state contractor registration listed as cancelled at one point — worth asking about directly given how dated that information is. Google shows the business at 3.8 stars overall; a single much older review on BuildZoom sits far lower and isn't representative of the broader spread. This reads as a shop capable of solid electrical work, but worth getting a firm schedule and a direct communication commitment before booking, given the pattern of complaints about reaching the owner.
while his crew does good work; charlie is a terrible communicator. Does not return calls/texts, can not schedule predictably and leaves you hanging repeatedly. After ~8 years of frustrating interactions I'm finally looking for a new electrician. There are more competent options out there.
Top notch group . Answered all my questions. Made educated recommendations. Worked quickly and efficiently. Cleaned up work area daily. Starts from the top with Charlie down to each employee I met . Respectful and curtious. Importantly, pricing was very reasonable.
They wired new smoke detectors in the building that I rent from while I was at work and left a mess and dusty boot prints all over my floor for me to clean up when I got home. I work in the trades too, clean up after yourselves! Especially when you’re working in someone’s apartment that doesn’t have anything to do with the scheduling or coordination of your work! That’s just disrespectful!
Charlie and his crew are fantastic. I have used them multiple times for my business and now my house and they are very professional neat clean and always get the job done. I would highly recommend.
