RLC Electric is an electrical contractor in Caribou, Maine. A recent customer called RLC to install a disconnect box for a heat pump they were installing themselves, and said the quote was about $300 cheaper than other places they called in Presque Isle. That customer said John and Alec came out, that John answered several general electrical questions, and that he helped inspect and install some of the heat pump. A recent customer who hired the company for heat pump work said it took months to correctly diagnose the issue, followed by months of chasing the company to replace parts covered under warranty. That customer also said invoices for repairs resulted in more damage, and told others to stay away.
RLC Electric also known as RLC Energy LLC is an unscrupulous and incompetent electrical contractor based out of Caribou, Maine. You do not want them installing, servicing, or repairing your heat pumps. They don't know what they are doing. If there is an issue, they will blame anything, anyone, and everyone rather than take any kind of responsibility when there is a problem. Based on my personal experience with them, it will take them months to correctly diagnose what the issue is. Then months of chasing them down to replace parts covered under warranty that they said they would replace. You will then end up fighting with them over invoices of alleged "repairs" which only resulted in more damage. They say the third time is the charm. It would appear it takes six times with these clowns. Ryan and Larry Cote shouldn't be trusted to replace a light bulb. If you're smart, stay away.
I called RLC to install a disconnect box for the heat pump I was installing myself. Their quote was ~$300 cheaper than the other places I called in Presque Isle. John and Alec came and were great to work with. John answered several general electrical questions I had and he even helped inspect and install some of the heat pump. Super happy and impressed with their end work. Will definitely be using RLC again for anything in the future.
