Rocky's Stove Shoppe and Chimney Services

Rocky's Stove Shoppe and Chimney Services is an Augusta stove and chimney shop, and the company says it has been helping customers in the Augusta community stay warm since 1980. A recent customer had an exhaust chimney cleaned: the crew showed up at 11 am, was done by 11:20 and showed photos of the work. A recent customer at the Augusta store said Ashley was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A 2025 customer said the shop helped them choose a new woodstove, showed up early for the installation and placed the stove correctly. A 2025 customer said the crew was on schedule for a chimney liner install. A 2025 customer said Antoinette and Lucas got an unused gas fireplace in working order while they waited on a part. A 2024 customer said Ryan and his partner fixed a busted pellet stove. A 2023 customer described a 56-foot liner, two stoves and a clean out in a 150-year-old building. Price and follow-through draw sharp complaints. A recent customer said that, at the same price, the chimney sweep no longer included removing leftover ash from the stove and ash pan or cleaning the glass, as it had in previous years. A recent customer said the company does not care about customers after purchase and ignores calls. A 2025 customer said a 30% price increase for the same chimney service came with no heads-up until the bill arrived. A 2024 customer said the technician did a good job cleaning the chimney, but the invoice came in higher than the year before with no advance notice. A 2024 customer said the company could find no record of an installation quote, so another visit was needed, and they were then handed a bill for an estimate they were never told would have a fee. A 2024 customer said the pellet stove was still not working after two visits. The Better Business Bureau grades the shop A+ and lists it as accredited, and centralmaine.com names it the winner for Best Stove/ Fireplace Store.
