Rose Roofing is a roofer whose website names Gorham, Portland, Westbrook, Scarborough, Windham, Cape Elizabeth, Falmouth and Yarmouth as its service area. The company describes itself as veteran-owned and operated. A recent Google customer said a planned minor repair turned into a full roof replacement, and the job was done and cleaned up by mid-afternoon in one day, with Mickey personally on site. That customer also said Mickey and his team helped work out a solution when their insulation company could not arrive for coordinated work. A recent customer who had just bought a home said the roof was sagging; the replacement brought sheathing replaced to the adequate thickness, new shingles and better ventilation, and Mickey moved the job to avoid a potential downpour. A recent customer had a nearly 40-year-old cedar shake roof on a tool shed replaced and said the cedar shakes and nails were nowhere in sight at the end of the day. A recent customer who gave two stars said water still dripped from the front porch a few days after a full replacement, and the owner came back and replaced rotten porch boards that had been bypassed. That customer also said communication became defensive, new flashing was slid under old flashing, and no written contract was provided despite asking. A 2024 HomeAdvisor customer said they got a quote quickly and were told the company could come the following week, then never heard back and hired someone else. A 2021 HomeAdvisor customer said the roofer came two days later, on a Sunday, before the remnants of a hurricane hit Maine. A 2021 customer said a small installation mix-up found after the job was finished was reworked by the owner, Micky, himself.
We hired Rose Roofers to do some work on our house on the recommendation of three different friends, who were happy with their roofs installed last year. Our anticipated minor roofing repair turned out to be a replacement (due to shoddy work from another company nine years ago), and Mickey and his team moved mountains to squeeze this change into a packed schedule. They showed up when they said they would, were entirely professional throughout the process, worked together like a well-oiled machine, and had the whole thing done and cleaned up by mid-afternoon in one day. Mickey was personally on site, checking in to make sure the process went smoothly and to answer any questions that I had. What's more, when we were presented with a problem due to our insulation company's inability to arrive to do some coordinated work with the roofing team, Mickey and his team helped us come up with a solution! The problem wasn't his to solve, but Mickey went out of his way to help us out in a pinch. That's a rare and admirable (and much appreciated!) quality in a tradesman. The pricing for the job was very fair, and given the unexpected twists we encountered, I'd say generous. We now have a reliable roof, and a guarantee of workmanship to back it up. I would absolutely recommend Rose Roofers to a friend!
I had a wonderful experience getting my roof replaced by Rose Roofing! Just after I purchased my home last spring, the snow melted and I noticed it was sagging despite the previous owners having replaced it just 7 years ago. After researching local roofers, I called Mickey of Rose Roofing for an estimate. He was kind, knowledgeable, and patiently listened to what I was observing / answered questions. Mickey remained a knowledgeable and kind partner throughout the process, even proactively rescheduling my project to avoid a potential downpour on the originally scheduled day. Mickey’s crew was incredibly talented. Everyone was kind and worked hard and efficiently. And they cleaned as they went, leaving a spotless finish. With my sheathing replaced to the adequate thickness, new shingles, and better ventilation I feel confident my roof will stay sound and dry as we head into the winter, and for years to come. I would highly recommend Mickey and Rose Roofing!
Mickey and the Rose Roofing crew did an amazing job for us replacing the roof on our tool shed. We appreciate how the crew was able to work and around the nuances that the little shed presented, i.e. steep pitch, odd/irregular framing, sections of the roof deck that needed to be replaced, custom soffit and trim, an annex on the back side with low slope, low hanging tree limbs (now gone), etc. Mickey was very attentive to what we needed for a somewhat no frills solution to a problem, namely, a nearly 40 year old cedar shake shingled roof that was leaking and rapidly deteriorating and required a tarp to keep things dry. With the high cost to replace/rebuild the entire shed, it made sense to invest in a new roof that will last another 30 or 40 years. We are very happy to finally have a weather tight shed once again and we will certainly be reaching out to Rose Roofing in the not too distant future when the main house roof needs to be replaced. The materials used are high quality, the crew worked fast and accurately around the aforementioned nuances and the crew did a great job on cleanup as well as those cedar shakes and the ~10,000 nails that held them down were nowhere in sight at the end of the day :) Rose Roofing was recommended to us by a co-worker and we could not be happier with the results that were delivered at a very fair price and as such, would recommend Rose Roofing to anyone without hesitation. Huge thanks to Mickey and the entire team at Rose Roofing - great work!!
We hired Rose Roofing for a full roof replacement based on local recommendations and good reviews. Our quote included replacing up to 10 sheets of rotten plywood, but the initial execution fell short. A few days post-installation, water was still dripping from our front porch in the exact spot we had previously flagged. When the owner returned to investigate, it was clear multiple rotten boards on the porch had been bypassed during the initial job. To his credit, he replaced them during that follow-up visit. However, the follow-up process was highly stressful. After we emailed our concerns, communication became incredibly defensive, and the owner avoided speaking with us directly while on-site. There was also an attempt to deflect blame for the leak onto an unrelated issue in the rafters, though the leak clearly only occurred when it rained. We still have unresolved quality concerns. New flashing was slid under old flashing rather than being fully replaced, which leaves us concerned about our 30-year shingle warranty. Additionally, the last row of shingles has exposed nail heads. While told this is normal, standard roofing practices indicate exposed nails can cause water intrusion. Finally, despite asking, we were never provided a written contract for this project. The crew works quickly and cleans up meticulously, but the missed work, defensive communication, and lingering installation questions left us without confidence in the final product. If you hire them, we strongly recommend a walkthrough before the roof is closed up.
I am extremely pleased with the work done by Mickey and his team at Rose Roofing. They did an excellent job replacing my roof. The team was highly efficient, and professional. I was especially impressed with how they left everything clean and completely picked up afterward. I would absolutely use Rose Roofing again!
