Shalvey Bros. Landscape says it has been in business for over 40 years, serving Rhode Island and southeastern New England, and describes itself as family owned. On Houzz it calls itself a landscape construction company offering landscape design, stone masonry, pavers and drainage solutions. rinla.org's awards page lists the company with an Excellence Award. A recent Google customer says John worked with them to design what they wanted and kept in touch during the process. That customer says they repaired all lawn damage caused by their machines and praised how the patio and fire pit turned out. A 2023 Reddit commenter on r/RhodeIsland wrote that Shalvey had done two large landscaping and hardscaping projects for them. A 2023 commenter in the same subreddit pointed to the company as working out of Warwick and said they go anywhere. A recent Google reviewer cites poor integrity, poor communication and lack of accountability. A 2025 Google customer said the company replaced the shrubs and plants in a flower bed and repointed a brick foundation on a rental home, but installed different shrubs than the ones requested. That 2025 customer said the masonry work was poorly done, with areas around the house still requiring mortar repair.
