SLT Construction Corporation

SLT Construction Corporation is a Carver-based excavating and demolition contractor. Its own site says it's been excavating since 1986; the Better Business Bureau's profile instead lists a 2008 start date, 30 employees, and owner Peter Opachinski — the two accounts of the company's founding don't line up. A separate directory lists its work as demolition, earthwork and plumbing. What's publicly documented about SLT skews heavily toward concerns rather than customer praise. A 2018 news report named SLT as the local contractor on a Scituate luxury-home construction site where a worker was struck and killed by a bulldozer; a separate 2018 report said the company paid more than $15,000 in fines between 2000 and 2016 tied to that incident and a number of other safety violations found in inspections. Multiple Google reviewers, in 2022 and again in 2024, describe SLT trucks tailgating them at highway speed — one driver rode within a foot or two of a reviewer's bumper with a child in the car; another reviewer, describing their time working for the company rather than hiring it, called the management unprofessional. A 2024 filing describes a request to enforce an earth-removal bylaw against SLT's operation on a Plympton parcel, and a separate item notes the company withdrew an application to run an asphalt/brick/concrete recycling facility spanning Carver and Plympton. The Better Business Bureau currently lists SLT as not accredited and not rated.
