One recent Google customer described almost 3,000 square feet of old roofing, underlayment, vents and drip edge coming off in about 3 hours, with the new roof finished in less than 34 hours. A recent customer said the company completed a total roof replacement on an older home, including the removal of three layers of old material, after getting quotes from four roofers. On a small, rusted soldered-seam metal roof, project manager Nate Flewelling proposed removing the rust, sealing the penetrations and applying two coats of sealant rather than a replacement, one recent customer wrote. A recent customer said a metal roof went on their mother's garage in Lamoine and the old gutters were swapped for wider, covered ones, and a recent customer said the company replaced their windows and siding. In a 2023 review, a customer said the company replaced their roof with a metal one at a lake property where materials came in by barge from a road ending 3 miles away. A 2023 Reddit commenter said they were working with the company on a full reroof and multiple chimneys that was still a few months off, and called it "wicked professional so far." A 2026 customer who gave one star said they had called the company out on two separate occasions for two different projects, one of them a Christmas light install, and would not recommend it. A 2023 customer said their roof quote took over a month and several calls, and that after asking about a temporary repair they were still waiting for the technician's call three months later.

Very good experience with Zach and the whole crew
Smith Builders just competed a total roof replacement on my older home including the removal of three layers of old material. I had quotes from four roofing contractors- Smith Builders is well established, was fairly priced with a good warranty, and were especially prompt in their communication. Unlike some reps I spoke with that just wanted to sell me on a product, Zach knew the trade of roofing well, and we were able to talk through the nuances of my older home and different install considerations and issues that might arise. Their crew was punctual, hard working and completed the entire job in two long days. Throughout the process there was good communication and follow up, and I had no worries that I’d be left with any unresolved issues. I have already recommended Smith Builders to friends that need a new roof.
We recently hired Smith builders to replace our shingle roofs, on both our home and garage. We also had them replace old fascia board wrap them in metal and wrap our soffits, as well as install new gutters. We were blown away at both the professionalism and attention to detail demonstrated by all the crews. From the project manager Nate, to the roof foreman Chris we were always kept in the loop. The roofing crew was top notch and if you didn’t notice the roof being done you wouldn’t know they had been there. A day and a half and they were done, and they went above and beyond to make sure no nails or shingles were left behind. I was also impressed with the siding crew and gutter crew they were in and out so quickly(less than half a day) I didn’t even get their names. Cannot recommend Smith builders enough. Hoping to hire them again in the near future for new siding. Great job crew!

I thought the workers on both roof and chimney repoint were great. I have not seen photos nor been up on the roof to inspect, however, from the ground it all looks great! My son-in-law will inspect when he visits. I am happy. I would recommend Smith Builders. Brandon kept me up-to-date on the project. It was a pricey project, but accepted that for a first-class job.
