Stone Electric is a residential electrician, and a recent Google customer who had just bought a 1910 house describes the kind of job it takes on: major electrical work, including getting rid of the knob and tube. That customer says Jon and Chelsea gave a reasonable quote, noticed other things that needed to be done, and showed up when they said they would. The company says it serves customers anywhere in Rhode Island and has been in business 20 years. A 2025 Reddit commenter in r/RhodeIsland said they rewired a house of more than 2,000 square feet with Stone Electric for about $14,000, when the other quotes were $20,000 to $25,000. A recent customer says Jonathan and his team handled the electrical work for a remodeling project in December 2025, finishing on time and on budget, and later installed an exterior EV chargeport. A recent customer says scheduling was easy and questions were answered in plain terms. A 2025 customer who had hired Jon Stone for 10 years said the work included removing knob and tube, installing house panels, rewiring and installing fixtures.
“Stone Electric.”
“We just rewired our 2k+sq ft house with Stone Electric for about 14k. All other quotes were 20-25k. He did an amazing job.”
I honestly wish I could give Stone Electric 10 stars. My husband and I just bought our first house and it has been really exciting but also overwhelming and a lot of work dealing with so many different contractors. It’s a beautiful old 1910 house and we needed major electrical work done including getting rid of the knob and tube. After a bunch of frustrating interactions with other electricians I found Stone Electric. Jon and Chelsea were both super responsive, helpful, fair and clearly know their craft. They gave us a really reasonable quote and also noticed a bunch of other important things that needed to be done. They showed up when they said they would, they did an amazing job, they were super communicative and easygoing and answered ALL of my many questions with patience. Highly recommend them if you need residential work done. Very grateful to you (Jon and Chelsea) for helping us with our house and making it safe.
These guys are great! Super easy to get in touch with and schedule (thanks Aaron!). They showed up exactly when they were supposed to and were very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. All my questions were answered in a way I could understand,as a lay person (thanks Chelsea!). It’s not always easy to find good tradesfolk that are dependable and trustworthy but so far they check all the boxes. I’ll definitely be sticking with stone electric.
This review is long overdue and well-deserved. In December 2025, Jonathan and his team handled the electrical work for our remodeling project. They did a fantastic job—finishing on time, staying on budget, and ensuring there were no surprises. They are knowledgeable professionals who truly listen to what you want while offering great suggestions of their own. Based on the quality of their work we subsequently asked them to install an exterior chargeport for an EV. Once again on time, on schedule and well done. The electrician who did the istallation was even great with our very vocal dog barking at her the whole time. If you want a team that listens and delivers high-quality work without any surprises, these are they guys you want.
We understand the importance of having reliable partners when it comes to building and maintaining our operations. Stone Electric has been a great partner for over 10 years. Very responsive and professional.
Stone Electric is my go-to electrician for all kinds of jobs. I've hired Jon Stone for the past 10 years and trust him and his crew to do excellent work on any size job. They remove the knobs and tubes, they install house panels, they re-wire, they install fixtures, if it involves electricity I trust them to do it. Check out the recent before and after! 5 stars!
