The newest account of Sunscapes' work is also the unhappiest. In August 2026 someone at a community the company maintains wrote "Professional pricing but amateur results" — hand-dumped over-fertilizing that burnt all the grass the previous season, then snow removal this year that damaged the repaired turf and the sidewalks. That is one contract, and it is not the whole story. Sunscapes is a family-owned landscape construction and maintenance company based in Needham Heights, founded by Danny Albernaz, handling hardscape and landscape construction, maintenance, irrigation, lighting and snow work for homes and commercial property. Its Angi and HomeAdvisor pages put it in business since 2004, and the BBB grades it A+. The warmer accounts are older, and they are mostly about Danny himself. A 2024 Google reviewer who had finally stopped doing the yard work themselves credited him with picking plants to cover a wall they disliked. In 2022, another called Dan and his crew hard working. An Angi customer in 2018 singled out snow removal: the driveway left really clean, nothing destroyed. Reaching back to 2009, one wrote that his bid was more than fair and that he tracked down identical PVC fence no other bidder could locate, finishing as soon as weather allowed. There is one older echo of the recent trouble. In 2011 an Angi customer called Danny prompt and efficient but said the crew did most of the work discussed and left some of it undone — a note both the Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles still carry. So: for planting and design work with Danny involved, the people who hired him for that liked the advice and the price. For a season-long maintenance or plowing contract, put the details in writing first — what gets applied to the lawn and at what rate, who walks the property afterward, and who pays if turf or walkways come up damaged.
