Sunshine Pools Maine is a Jay pool and hot tub business that describes itself as a local source for pool and hot tub installation, service and supplies, and says it has been in business 45 years. A 2025 customer said Kim and Jeff were patient, informative and considerate through the entire pool process and installation, and that their crew worked hard. A 2024 customer said Sunshine installed a new inground pool liner. A recent customer put a down payment on a pool on 8/25/25, was told they were first in line for 2026 installation, and said the pool was not installed until 7/15/26. That customer said the owner would not answer calls or return calls or emails about the delay, and that more than two months after installation she called to say almost a thousand dollars was still owed. A 2026 customer said they called a few times about a pool liner, were told to expect an email that never arrived, and could not get answers. A 2022 customer said Sunshine wanted a $1000 non-refundable deposit just to come measure for a liner replacement quote. The shop is also a U-Haul pickup point. A recent customer said that after reserving a 9am rental they were told it would not be ready until 10:45, and that Sunshine Pools then pushed them off onto the U-Haul reps.

I put a down-payment on a pool 8/25/25 and was told that we were first in line for 2026 installation. Pool wasn't installed until 7/15/26. Called owner many times about the delay, but she wouldn't answer phone or return calls or emails. Yesterday I get a call from her and she says I still owe almost a thousand bucks. More than 2 months after pool installation. I had paid what I thought was the entire balance on 7/15. She said it must have "slipped through the cracks". Obviously this business doesn't treat their customers well !
Reserved 9am, was told I couldn't get the uhaul until 1045 the day before. Said that wouldn't work. Told me they would call back. Was called by Uhaul. Told me sunshine pools didn't want to work with me anymore. So they messed up a rental. didn't take any accountability for it and pushed me off on to the Uhaul reps. Thank goodness the Uhaul reps were awesome and fixed the problem sunshine pools created. I was going to have them do my pool as well but if they cant handle a rental why would I trust them with my pool?

Disappointed. Must not need the business. Called few times to get a pool liner. Was told I should get an email. Never received. Called again. Can't get any help or answers or replies. Guess I am going to try another business!!
