Michael Montigny runs Surrounding's Landscaping as a sole proprietorship out of New Bedford — BBB puts it at eight years in business — and customers deal with him directly: one, in August 2026, said Mike helped them work out which services they actually needed, and another in June 2026 said they are prompt with the yard work and keep them posted on what it needs. The work is the SouthCoast maintenance round — mowing, leaf cleanups, hedges, lawn care. In March 2026 a homeowner had Michael and his tree-trimming team prune their apple trees and said all the debris was cleared afterward. A May 2026 customer said their parents' lawn had never looked better. Further back, a November 2024 reviewer referred him to friends with a three-acre property in South Dartmouth for a fall clean-up — leaves cleared, perennials cut down, beds weeded — and another that same month had used the crews for six years on residential buildings. Price is where the recent reviews split. In May 2026 one customer gave four stars, praised the communication and said prices are high; another, the same month, said the big companies had charged more in the past and called Michael's prices reasonable. Get the number in writing and you will know which side of that you land on. Two older complaints are worth knowing about. In October 2024 a neighbor posted that debris was dumped on their property while a lot nearby was being cleaned, and said it was caught on camera. And in April 2022 a customer who had booked through HomeAdvisor and confirmed a follow-up list by email wrote that the crew showed up to do the work unannounced. A May 2019 reviewer also found uprooted grass in spots after a thatching and would rather it had been done when the soil was drier. For regular lawn and yard upkeep around New Bedford, South Dartmouth and Wareham with the owner on the job, this is a sensible call. Pin the price down before the first visit, confirm what day the crew is coming, and if you share a lot line, settle where the debris goes.
