Talos Masonry builds the stone and brick work around a house: retaining walls, steps, walkways and patios. The company says on its website that it has been in business for 23 years, and it lists New London, Fairfield, Middlesex and New Haven as its service area. A 2025 Google reviewer said Talos Masonry put in a retaining wall, replaced deteriorated front and back steps and installed a 50 ft paver walkway. That 2025 customer said John identified problems with the gutter drains and water seeping into the basement, and that after new dry wells were put in, the basement stayed bone dry through the August 2024 rain and flooding in Oxford. A 2025 customer who needed a new walkway, steps and a backyard patio said the pavers looked nice. A 2025 reviewer who had masonry work done called the work solid and the pricing fair. We’ve worked with John Talo on a couple of projects, and each time the experience has been outstanding. His crew is respectful, extremely hard-working, and takes great pride in their mastery, which is evident in the finished work. John stands by what he does; we couldn’t be happier and highly recommend him to anyone seeking top-quality stone masonry!
Just had some masonry work done and I gotta say, these guys are top-notch. The work is super solid and looks amazing. They were really professional and easy to work with, too. Definitely recommend them if you need any brick or stone work. Pricing was fair, too, which is always a bonus.
Talos Masonry put in retaining wall, replaced my deteriorated Front and back steps to the house, and installed a 50 ft paver walkway. Fantastic job! I get tons of compliments on the walkway from everyone , especially delivery guys, LOL !! Talos Masonry are total pros and care about thier work. John was a pleasure to deal with and had our best interest in mind. In particular, he astutely identified problems with our gutter drains and water seepage we were getting in the basement. Accordingly, we had new dry wells put in and after the 18" inches of historic rain and flooding in Oxford last August 2024 our basement was bone dry ! I highly reccomend !!
Been searching around for a while trying to find the best contractor to turn my lawn into the picture perfect landscape for my home. We all know how hard that can be! After a couple good recommendations for Talos I finally pulled the trigger and it was the best thing I could have done! They're upfront and very respectable, communicating every step of the way with the time line and costs. Everything turned out better than I could have expected. If you have a big project or just want to work on your dream home. Highly Recommend them!
Best contractor I have worked with. I needed a new walkway, steps, and backyard patio. They did an amazing job. The pavers really look nice, and now I can use by back yard this summer with my family. I would recommend, I am very happy.
