The written history is short and old. The single Houzz review is a five-star note posted in January 2015 — and it came from a horticultural-business consultant who met the owners at one of his own seminars, not from a homeowner who hired them for a yard. An undated listing elsewhere on the web carries a homeowner testimonial praising the firm's design work. There is a second thing worth knowing before you call. The company says Lynne Butler has been its principal owner and lead designer since spring 2026, while that 2015 review credits a husband-and-wife team, Susan Opton and Michael. So the one written account anyone has left describes people who are no longer named as running the studio. That makes Terrascapes a reasonable call for a homeowner who wants a designed garden — a woodland planting, a patio, a container scheme — rather than mow-and-blow maintenance, and who is comfortable judging a designer on portfolio and references. Ask to see finished gardens completed under the current ownership, and ask how design fees are billed separately from installation, since the quoted job range spans a very wide band.
