On its website, The Driveway Guys describes asphalt paving work running from new driveway installations to resurfacing, patchwork and repairs. A recent customer said Chris and his guys removed an old driveway and installed a new one, and everything finished as quoted and discussed. A recent customer said their driveway is no longer dirt, and that it was leveled and its pitch fixed. A recent customer said Chris helped expand the width of their driveway entrance with the City of Portland. A recent customer described a driveway with a cement slab for a garage, and said extra tar was used to make a walkway to the porch. A nursing facility with pavement trip hazards wrote that Chris came over the same day, gave an estimate within a day, and within a week was tearing up the pavement and regrading the driveway to make it flat for residents. A recent customer who gave one star said their driveway was completed on 9/26/25 for $9,200 and a hole began forming in May 2026. They said Chris, the owner, kept promising to come by and fix it, and four months after their first message the hole had grown until they could not park on a third of the driveway. A recent reviewer said the company was quick to purchase material but slow to pay its invoices, with an open balance more than two years old. Its BBB grade is a C. A wmtw.com news story says authorities issued a $2,500 summons to the company, which owned a truck that fell through a bridge.
“The truck is owned by The Driveway Guys Company of Biddeford and was driven by Joshua Polewarzyk of Limington, 37, who was able to free himself from the truck in the water and sustained minor injuries in the crash.”
“Authorities said they have issued a $2,500 weight violation summons to The Driveway Guys, the Biddeford-based company that owns the truck that fell through the bridge.”
“The truck is owned by "The Driveway Guys," a paving contractor.”
Unfortunate to have to leave this review but, Chris, the owner has ultimately left me no choice. This company has done at least 4 driveways connected to my family and referrals we have given them. My driveway was one of them. Completed on 9/26/25, everything was great. It was a job well done for $9200. In May of 2026 (not even an entire year after completion) there was a hole beginning to form in my driveway. Very small and easy to fix at the time. Chris was notified and responded promptly and assured me he’d be by after another job in the area to really fix the problem. A month then went by without any word from Chris, and over the next few months it was the same string of false promises, that he’ll be by “next week” or there was always an convenient excuse about why he hasn’t been able to make it. We are now four months from my original message and the hole has probably gotten 4x bigger to the point where I am unable to park any vehicle on 1/3 of my $9200 driveway. I just want my driveway fixed. For $9200 to be blown off for four consecutive months is just the lowest form of unprofessionalism. Chris I really hope this review gets the point across or I will be taking legal action. Attached you can see how it started, and what it has become!
Chris and the team were great, responsive and efficient ..very happy with results
Excellent job, completed in one day. No hidden fees. Communication is excellent. Chris is easy to talk to and does what he says he will do. He and his crew is very experienced and they have the right tools for the job. I would hire The Driveway Guys again. I tried to upload photos but the site is saying the file is too large - even with just 1 photo.
