Its website says the business started after headaches, skin irritation and respiratory issues the writer linked to harsh chemicals in everyday cleaning products. A customer said Joyce and her team use products that are safe for their family and are in and out in a reasonable amount of time. A customer who has apartment turnovers said Green Gleam cleans the dirt and grime each time. In r/providence, a commenter wrote that they ended up firing someone else and hiring Green Gleam, which was "60 bucks cheaper." On Nextdoor in Providence, RI, a poster called it way more reasonable than companies they had hired that charged double. In a 2020 review, a customer said the owner, Joyce, washed floors and windows inside and out and confirmed which areas she was cleaning before starting. I hired Green Gleam for a specific post-move-out clean of a main kitchen area and appliances (specific photos were provided of what and where). I provided photos upfront and received an $80 quote with an estimate of about an hour of work. She requested a tip and cash only. I asked that it all be in the receipt. The owner also performed a walkthrough on-site before starting. Two hours into the job, she stated she cleaned an unrequested secondary pantry/scullery area off the kitchen that was outside our agreed scope, and demanded a price adjustment for her extra time. When we declined to pay for unauthorized extra work beyond the $80 agreement, she became upset, stopped working mid-job, and left. To make matters worse, she accepted $100 cash on-site ($80 for the job + $20 tip), but then refused to issue a written receipt. When we asked for a receipt showing the $100 handed to her, she claimed doing so would be "falsifying records," completely refusing to itemize the $80 service charge alongside the $20 tip. She then went on a tantrum to both my partner and me with inappropriate language and threatening to block us. I also searched the state business database and found no active business or LLC filing under "Green Gleam" in Rhode Island. Makes me wonder if she is working as a sole proprietor but DBA business name. I will be looking more into her business practices with the state. Overall, very poor communication, lack of scope management, and highly unprofessional conduct. I would not recommend this service.
I have used Green Green’s services multiple times. I have never been disappointed. I rest easy every time I have an apartment turnover knowing that Green Gleam will clean the dirt and grime & make everything clean and beautiful again. I highly recommend this company.
LOVE YALL! So trustworthy, communicative, and dilligent. Joyce and her team use high quality products that are safe for my family. They are always in and out in a reasonable amount of time and the house looks great.
