The Piano Movers of Maine moves pianos, and a recent Google customer said Jeff moved an upright for them from Yarmouth to Cumberland at a very reasonable price. A local blog post names it as one of two well-established piano moving companies based in Portland, both of them, in the writer's experience, willing to travel pretty far. The company says it has been in business for 10 years, and its website asks for piano dimensions, access information and both addresses so it can work out the cost and scheduling. One recent customer said Jeff has moved their piano on two separate occasions. For another recent job, Jeff coordinated the move of a 1936 Steinway from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas to Brunswick, Maine, and that customer said the piano arrived in perfect condition. A 2026 customer said Jeff's team took time scoping out the route at both ends while moving a piano more than 100 years old from Topsham to Falmouth. A 2026 reviewer described two moves from one house: a junk piano carried from a rec room above the garage down to the garage, and a 65-year-old Baldwin spinet taken to the basement of a condo 15 minutes away. A 2025 customer said Jeff took a 6-foot grand apart, wrapped it, got it out of a very tight apartment and reassembled it in a church sanctuary 20 minutes away. A 2024 customer said the team flipped a Yamaha U3 upright on its end onto the dolly to wheel it through a very narrow doorway in a small apartment. A 2025 customer said the company gave cost estimates for each of the pianos they were considering, then arrived early, finished early and billed what it estimated. A 2025 customer said Jeff and his crew moved two 700-pound speakers for them. On Reddit, a 2025 commenter said the company moves the Portland Symphony Orchestra's piano, and a 2025 commenter suggested calling Jeff at Piano Movers of Maine, saying he might have the right equipment. Its BBB grade is A+, though one BBB customer wrote that the company was a no-show.

“I lived in the same neighborhood as the gentleman who owns this company and he was very nice. I never had him move a piano for me but I did chat with him about his business. He’s been in business for a while.”

“There are two well-established piano moving companies here in Southern Maine: The Piano Movers of Maine ( 207-939-3018 ) and Starbird Piano ( 207-775-2733 ), both of which are based in Portland. Both, in my experience, are willing to travel pretty far.”
Jeff is great! He has moved our piano on two separate occasions now and has done awesome both times. Clear communicator and was always happy to work with us on details. I hope we don’t need a move anytime soon but wouldn't hesitate to reach out again!
Jeff moved an upright piano for us from Yarmouth to Cumberland. He is professional and personable - always prompt in communications, on time and reliable. I felt confident knowing the piano was in good hands and they did a great job for a very reasonable price. Thanks so much!
The Piano Movers of Maine did a great job moving our old, heavy piano, which needed rather careful handling. Thanks, guys!
Jeff coordinated the move of my 1936 Steinway from Dallas/FtWorth, Texas to Brunswick, Maine. Kept me abreast of where the piano was going and when it should arrive. The piano arrived in perfect condition and were very pleased!
