Two school friends who went into business together, Jim McCadden and Jim Martin, still have their names on the tile-and-stone showroom they opened on Willard Street in Quincy back in 1990 — a founding date the Better Business Bureau's own filing corroborates independently, putting the business at 36 years old. Most people who walk in are shopping for tile, natural stone, or a custom-fabricated countertop, and the shop does its own fabrication rather than farming it out. Its own site lists Quincy and Boston as its service area, while Houzz's directory listing describes work spanning roughly 47 towns across Greater Boston. The name that keeps coming up on the sales floor lately is Kathy — recent reviewers describe her walking them through grout and tile pairings until something clicks, with one order arriving quicker than expected after the pick. That's consistent with the longer history: 39 reviews spread across seven sources since 2022 lean heavily positive, with tile and stone installation work coming in for repeated praise, and Google alone shows 4.6 stars across 63 ratings. The last six months brought four new reviews and none of them negative. The record isn't perfectly clean further back. A couple of older reviews describe slow follow-up when something needed fixing after the sale, and a separate account on a home-improvement review site describes a deposit dispute that reportedly went unanswered. Neither shows up in anything recent, but it's worth asking directly how the company handles a callback if a job needs revisiting. Its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license (219595) is active, the BBB rates it A+ even though the company hasn't pursued accreditation, and it's a listed member of the Quincy Chamber of Commerce. This is a solid call for a tile, stone, or countertop project where picking the material in a showroom matters as much as the installation — just get a clear answer on the callback policy before signing anything.

Jim and the team at Tiles by Perfection are shining examples of how to deliver on promises and phenomenal results. Everything they promised, they delivered and we couldn't be happier! On top of that, the Tiles by Perfection team is always giving back to the community and going the extra mile for their fellow man. It would be impossible to properly encompass all they've done to help so many-- I just know we're thankful people like Jim, Roberta, Kathy, Harvey and Kate exist to make this world a better place!
