United Better Homes pairs a new roof with solar, and its customers split sharply on how that goes. The family-owned exterior contractor says it has served New England since 2003 from a Central Falls, RI headquarters with offices in Attleboro and Worcester, doing roofing, solar, windows, doors and siding; its site lists Massachusetts HIC #161035 and Rhode Island #26256, and cites GAF Master Elite and Mass Save participation. Google shows 4.6 stars from 13 ratings. In an April 2026 Google review, a customer said the roofers went from tear-off to shingles in one day, and the solar crew put up the rails, panels and electrical system ready for inspection. A November 2025 customer on their second solar and battery installation with UBH said they were very satisfied, and another November 2025 reviewer said the conduit was routed so it wasn't visible from outside. A July 2025 Reddit commenter said UBH handled all of a permitting problem with their town. Other Reddit posts are warnings. In July 2026, a customer who had a roof and solar installed a few months earlier said the solar system had failed and no contact method on the company's site produced a response. In July 2025, one commenter said UBH botched everything with their solar, and another said the company responded only after a threat to sue. An October 2025 Google reviewer said that before any work began, one appointment was moved and the next was cancelled the same day, costing them two workdays, and the promised call to reschedule never came. In a 2015 Houzz review, a customer said the work took forever and the quality was poor.
