A recent Reddit commenter said they had met with George from Yost Home Improvement in Waterford, had him do work for them in the past, and had a very good experience with his company. The company says it has been in business 65 years, lists New London, Middlesex, New Haven and Windham as its service area, and its site lists products from gutters and gutter guards to doors, decking, fencing and garage doors. A theday.com headline reads "Yost Home Improvements celebrates 50 years." On Google it holds 4.8 stars from 17 ratings. A 2026 customer said Yost replaced multiple casement and awning windows and an 8-foot slider, and that Aaron, Will and Al were professional and meticulous with the installation and trim work. A 2026 customer said they replaced their front entry door and two storm doors, and found dealing with everyone from George and Al to the office people professional and pleasant. In a 2025 review, a customer said George Yost came to the house to quote six gutter sections and nine downspouts, mapped it all out with a straight edge, and that Yost was willing to replace the rotted wood behind the old gutters. That 2025 customer said the work was completed as promised and on time, with co-owner Albert Yost up on a ladder, at a price about 10% higher than the lowest quote received. A 2021 customer said George met them at their new house on time, gave a proposal on site, and got the gutter extension, downspout move and siding work done in a short period. In that 2021 review, the customer said the crew cleaned up so thoroughly they could not find any debris. A 2025 Google reviewer complained that one of the company's trucks cut them off on Route 117 in Ledyard.
“I’m in the same area, my sister’s house in Niantic is 45 years old. I had the roof replaced for her earlier this year. I have met with George from Yost Home Improvement in Waterford. I have had him do work for me in the past and have had very good experience with his company. The replacement windows he uses are very impressive and have lots of options.”

We are very happy with our recent experience. We replaced our front entry door and two storm doors. The products are high quality. Every person we have dealt with, from George and Al, to Aaron and Will and the office people, it has been a professional and pleasant experience. It was our first experience with them and we definitely recommend them. We know who we will call for our next project.
Yost did an excellent job with replacement of multiple casement and awning windows, as well as an 8 foot slider in our home. Aaron, Will and Al were professional and meticulous with the installation and trim work, and they were very respectful of our home. We highly recommend Yost Home Improvement.
If they do Home Improvments like they drive then be afraid one of their trucks cut me off on route 117 in Ledyard ct today when there was nobody behind me
Yost is a local, family owned business. Every interaction from the first to the last exceeded my expectations. George Yost came to my house to give me a quote. Having the owner visit for the quote is huge plus. My house is large with 6 different gutter sections and 9 downspouts. He mapped it all out with a straight edge. In addition, Yost was willing to replace the rotted wood behind my old gutters. Not all gutter companies will do this. The work was completed as promised and on time. Albert Yost, the co-owner, even was up on a ladder! The price was about 10% higher than the lowest quote I received. I wanted to say yes as soon as George gave me the quote, but I got two other quotes for peace of mind. The two other gutter companies gave me a hard sell, but George was as professional as can be. I could not be happier with my gutter replacement.
