The written record is small and dated. Two homeowner accounts exist, both on BuildZoom. In a 2021 review a homeowner said the crew renovated her kitchen and that the work was timely and high quality, adding that the people in her home were courteous and respectful. In a 2023 review another homeowner described a deck and a new boiler installed in 2020-2021 and said she was very pleased with them. That same 2023 account is also the one thing worth raising before you hire. After the work she found what looked like mold on a horizontal deck beam and had a squeaking boiler the manufacturer wanted the installer to call about; she wrote that she emailed the company and had not received a return phone call or email. A 2021 Telegram & Gazette story about a Lancaster senior who needed a roof reported that ZB Construction offered to donate the roofing materials, and a commenter on r/WorcesterMA named the company when a homeowner asked for renovation and repair help on a historic estate. BuildZoom credits the company with 38 permitted projects and lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration for it; that registration was not confirmed against the state register during this scan, so ask to see it. This is a reasonable call for deck, kitchen and general remodeling work in the Lancaster and Sterling area if you are comfortable hiring on a short record — and worth asking directly how they handle a callback after the job is done.
