Ziegler is a Danbury shop for rugs, upholstery and stone and tile floors. The company says it has been in business 75 years, and its website lists a service area from Danbury and Bethel out to New Milford, Kent and Litchfield. On Google it carries a 5-star average across 168 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades it A+. A customer said the edges of an 11 x 13 vintage rug had developed scalloping that was a trip hazard, and the rug came back lying flat with the loose threads gone. A customer with a grandmother's partly threadbare rug said Phil and his staff divided it into seven pieces and made wall hangings from them. For moth-eaten oriental carpets, a customer said Phil set them on the right track with cleaning and anti-moth treatments and picked up and delivered the rugs in a timely manner. A customer with two cats and a dog said their white couch came back gleaming white and smelling fresh. A customer of close to 10 years had outdoor cushions cleaned and stored until spring. A 2025 customer said Ziegler stripped and resealed a dull kitchen slate floor at a very fair price. A 2025 customer said Phil and his team cleaned, regrouted and refinished 45-year-old black slate floors, and that Phil moved his schedule around to finish before their move-in date. A 2024 customer said Phillip had to strip a terra cotta floor 4-5 times after finding layers of wax and polyurethane, worked all day on a Saturday to finish by the promised date, and kept to the original quoted price.
I cannot say enough about what a great job Phil and his team did cleaning and repairing our very large vintage rug. It very badly needed a cleaning, but the bigger challenge was repairing all of the loose threads along the edges of this 11 x 13 vintage rug. Also the edges had developed scalloping, or waves, which presented a trip hazard. When the rug was delivered back to us, it was quite literally good as new. Gone was the scallop at the edges, the rug lay perfectly flat. Gone were all the stray threads. The edges were clean and smooth. Thank you so much Ziegler for doing such a great job!
Wonderful experience with Ziegler Preservation Specialists! They were responsive and timely from start to finish, and our large carpets came back clean with beautifully finished new bindings. Highly recommend!!!
The Ziegler team was outstanding in terms of picking up, cleaning and dropping off my carpets. They took great care of my rugs and were easy to work with. Would recommend them to anyone looking to clean orientals or rugs with lots of wear and tear. Everything looks brand new. Will definitely be using them again.
