Despite the electrician label a directory hangs on it, 1 Security Co does not do general electrical work. Read the permits and one trade appears over and over: alarms. Burglar alarms, wireless alarm systems, and low-voltage fire alarm panels wired to monitor common areas and sprinkler systems. The jobs are specific and consistent. A $40,000 low-voltage fire alarm at a mixed-use building on Locust Street in Danvers covering common areas and sprinkler monitoring. Similar systems at Tappan Street and Hamilton Road in Brookline, one of them a four-unit property. A wireless fire alarm on Lowell Road in Brookline wired for power only, with every device wireless, to a fire-department-approved plan. Burglar alarms in Attleboro, Newbury and Beverly, a restaurant system in Danvers, and a commercial wireless system in Peabody. Twenty-six permits in all, three of them in the last three years, plus seven Marblehead electrical permits filed without descriptions. It is a small operation run out of a Marblehead residential address, with Colleen P Kraybill listed as owner and Michael Kraybill and Michael R Kraybill also named. The licensing is the part worth pinning down. Massachusetts issues a separate S-License for security and fire-alarm systems, and BuildZoom shows four of them attached to this business: MA4504C listed active, and SS7472, SS4504 and SS642 all listed inactive with the Department of Public Safety showing they were at one point cancelled. The active one carries a 'Verified License' badge that the same page undercuts in the next line — BuildZoom says it has not actually checked that licence since January 2010. Sixteen-year-old verification is not verification. Ask for the current S-License number and check it with the Department of Public Safety yourself. There is no customer commentary anywhere: no rating, no review, not a single comment on any platform. And a note on fit — if you are looking for an electrician for wiring, panels or fixtures, this is not that business. If you want an alarm or monitored fire system installed, it is squarely in their line, and the permit record shows they have been filing that work for well over a decade.
