A-1 Paving & Excavation does our Septic Service, the gentleman that came, Paul did a great job. I was very happy, nice guy and he was very knowledgeable. We had one problem, that he didn’t know about. The truck he came in accidentally leaked a pretty good size puddle of hydraulic fluid under the truck. We just had the driveway sealed a week before. To make a long story short. I called down and talked to the owner’s daughter and told her what had happened. She sent some guys up right away, to try to take care of the problem. The spill was about 3 feet in diameter and the truck had ran over it, and tracked it down the driveway. They did the best they could to try to clean it up, putting some Speedy Dry down, but there was nothing they could really do. It would need to be cleaned up a few times. After calling that day, I went down and talked to the owner John, (Chet) as I know him. He said, he would take care of the problem and have the driveway resealed after the cleanup was done, and he did. The only problem I really had, was the way John treated me. My only concern was the communication, over the course of a week, I called three times and texted some pictures to his daughter to show her what it looked like. During the last conversation I had with John, he seemed to feel I was calling too frequently. From my perspective, three calls over a seven days period was reasonable follow-up on a driveway oil damage issue, but I understand his frustration. I don’t understand where he thought I was calling every day, as he said, because I didn’t. I talked to his daughter two times and with him once, twice when he called mad. I did text some pictures of the Driveway to show his daughter what the driveway looked like after the crew came the second time. She was very understanding and helpful. I just didn’t like John’s attitude towards me as a customer. What he said to me and how he treated me on the phone was wrong. My wife also overheard the conversation. But needless to say, I would do business with them again. I ended up putting more degreaser down a third time and power washed the driveway. The gentleman came back up and resealed the driveway and everything worked out. I still recommend A-1, the owner held to his word and what he said he would do. This was just an unforeseen accident.
