A.B. Bazzano Fuels delivers home heating fuel oil, according to its Better Business Bureau profile. A local news site, nornow.org, has described the company as part of Norfolk history since 1937, when it began as a business that sold ice and coal. A recent customer says their dirt road was never a problem for more than a dozen years, but the company now doesn't want to travel down some dirt roads and made that decision without inspecting the road. That customer says they were given a choice: pay more for a pickup truck delivery or find someone else. The same customer says a promised call about a locked-in price never came. A 2023 customer said the company never answered the phone at any time of day and called it rather costly.
“The company now known as A.B. Bazzano Fuels has been a part of Norfolk history since 1937, when John C. Bazzano, Sr. opened John C. Bazzano & Son, a business that sold ice and coal.”
This once was an outstanding local company where good people worked. What happened? It sold ...to a woman named Katherine. I loved the staff...and paid much extra for a hot water heater to keep them as my supplier recently. Now they say they don't want to travel down some dirt roads. The dirt road here- recently repaired- has never been a problem for Bazzanos....for more than a dozen years. This decision was made without even inspecting the road. I call to ask about the locked in price I was never contacted about (as promised) and instead was told a message was left regarding delivery changes (it was not) They gave me a choice- pay more for a pickup truck delivery or find someone else. Whomever the new owner is of this company, you need to learn more about community service.
They never answer the phone, at any time of day. Also rather costly.
First rate company in every way.
