A La Maid is a house-cleaning service on East Main Street in Clinton, and its website calls it a small family-owned Connecticut cleaning company. Its BBB profile describes house cleaning, move-in and move-out cleanings, rental properties and summer cottages, office cleaning and event clean-up. The website also offers free estimates. On Google it carries 4.6 stars from 106 ratings. The longest account comes from a 2024 Google review by a customer who had been using A La Maid for years after trying a couple of other cleaning companies. The crew was more thorough and thoughtful than the earlier ones, the reviewer wrote, and once flipped the schedule to a different day when the customer was hosting an event. A February 2024 review describes Nicole coming out within four hours for an estimate, working out a plan around the bathroom, and fitting the job in the next day; the two cleaners, Liz and Janet, were kind and thorough, and the customer said they never felt judged. A July 2026 reviewer couldn't believe even the grout was cleaned well, and an August 2026 reviewer wrote that the employees are pleasant and trusted, with good communication. Two recent Google reviews are one-star. In June 2026 a customer said an estimate turned out to be inaccurate and that the company's response implied the issue was on their end, suggesting the home may not have been cleaned in a long time; the customer said they would not use the company again. In a November 2025 review, a customer said the cleaners didn't show up for the appointment and the company blamed the miss on them.
