A Plus Energy Services is a Milford, NH energy-audit and insulation contractor founded by Daniel Ramage in 1997, relocated to New Hampshire in 2000 and incorporated in Hampstead in 2002. The company states it performs home energy audits, air sealing, attic, wall and basement insulation, window replacement and suntube daylighting for residential, multifamily and commercial buildings across southern New Hampshire, and lists Amherst, Bedford, Concord, Dublin, Goffstown, Keene, Manchester, Merrimack, Nashua and Peterborough among the towns it serves. Reviewers from 2022 through 2025 consistently describe Ramage personally conducting NH Saves energy audits and then completing the recommended insulation and air-sealing work himself, leaving job sites clean and explaining what was done and why. Several reviews get specific about the results: one homeowner who heats entirely with an outdoor wood furnace reported wood usage dropping from about 10 cords a winter to about 6 after roughly $4,600 of insulation work, and others describe warmer homes, reduced oil or gas use, and improved blower-door test results. Reviewers also credit him with knowing the NH Saves rebate program well enough to identify savings other insulation companies had missed. Two reviews stand out as less positive. One reviewer gave 3 stars because repeated calls went unreturned and they were never able to have work done or evaluate it. Another gave 1 star after an in-home energy audit that, in their account, did not cover every inspection item listed on the company's own website. Everything else in the record, more than twenty other reviews spanning three years, describes a positive, hands-on experience with the same person doing the work. The company also lists a set of individual energy-science credentials for Ramage, including HERS (Home Energy Rating System) certification, an IGSHPA geothermal installer credential, and training from several energy-industry programs; these are the company's own claims rather than registry-verified licenses, since New Hampshire does not license insulation or energy-audit work as a trade. Anyone considering A Plus Energy Services should expect to work directly with Ramage rather than a larger crew, and should confirm upfront what an energy audit will and won't include, given the one account of a narrower-than-expected inspection. For homeowners looking for an experienced, personally run insulation and weatherization contractor familiar with New Hampshire's rebate programs, the track record here is strong and specific.
Daniel of A Plus Energy Services conducted an energy efficiency assessment of my house through the NH Saves Program. Daniel provided a comprehensive estimate, and he did an excellent job with the work he completed. He is a really nice guy, easy to work with, and was very helpful with the overall project. I highly recommend A Plus Energy Services for any of your insulation needs!
Dan and his team were professional and quick. Here's the real deal. I paid Dan's company $4,600 for a couple of day's work plus a TON of insulation. I heat 100% with wood via an outdoor wood furnace. By the end of winter, for 15 years, I've used 10 cord per winter. Now, in mid April, I've only used 6 cord, and my house was WAY hotter than ever. That's a 40% drop in wood usage, worth about $1400, or a 3 year ROI. I wish I did this 15 years ago. Thanks Dan and Team!!!!
A Plus Energy did an excellent insulation upgrade at my home. Daniel, the installer and owner, was incredibly thorough, efficient, and left the workspace perfectly clean. He explained everything clearly and his work was top-notch. I've already noticed a significant improvement in my home's comfort and expect to see lower energy bills. The NH Saves energy efficiency rebates made the upgrades very affordable. Highly recommend A Plus Energy and especially Daniel for the professional and meticulous service.
Daniel did a great job with the work that was done at my home and keeping me informed of what was happening. He completed all work in a timely manner and left a clean work environment. He was very helpful with the whole project and also gave good advice to me. I would highly recommend A Plus Energy Services. They are very professional and respect you and your home.
Dan was great! I was looking to improve the energy efficiency of my house. After having a couple insulation companies come out I discovered the NH Saves energy audits and weatherization program. Dan came out very shortly after I signed up and completed an energy audit. He was quickly able to identify that the knee wall area of my cape style house was not insulated. He made several other recommendations that the other companies I had come out missed. Dan was quick to complete the work and was easy to schedule with. He was clean while working in the house and l look forward to the improved efficiency benefits.
