A June 2026 reviewer described Jerry taking out his tools to help repair a crack at a house whose foundation Allard Concrete had not built. The customer said they had worked with Allard for years and recommended the crew. Allard describes itself as a family-owned concrete company in Ware, Massachusetts; its BBB listing names concrete foundations and floors, and its Houzz profile lists driveways, patios, sidewalks, and garage and basement floors. A June 2025 customer praised the work and clear communication and said they intended to use the company for future cement projects. Google shows a 4-star average from four ratings. A homeowner's 2018 complaint is much more serious. The reviewer said Allard built their new-house foundation and concrete porch in July 2007. They reported porch cracking beginning in 2017 and worsening after the following winter, with a corner crumbling away. The homeowner attributed the problem to concrete from J. J. Mottes and said their research and conversations with state representatives suggested repairs could cost $100,000–$250,000. Those were the homeowner's allegations and cost estimates. The same reviewer said Allard initially denied using that supplier, then said it might have done so but could not confirm because it had not retained the 2007 business records. The customer also alleged that a promised inspection never happened, questions went unanswered and a later phone call ended with the company hanging up on their wife. That complaint appeared on Houzz in July 2018 and Google in August 2018.
Jerry and the guys do an amazing job. Jerry is very helpful and knowledgeable. I once asked Jerry about how to fix a crack in the only house I built where he did not do the foundation. Instead of just telling me how to it, Jerry got out his tools and helped me fix it. I have worked with them for years and I don't use anyone else. Once I used someone else since Allard concrete could not make it and I won't do that again. I highly recommend them.
We 100% recommend Allard Cement! Flawless work and always clear and concise communication. A complete pleasure working with such professionals! We will be using them for all of our cement projects going forward.
In July 2007, my wife and I contracted Allard Concrete to construct the foundation of our new house. At the time there seemed to be no issues with the work performed by Allard Concrete. In 2017 I started noticing a lot of cracking on our front porch, which is all concrete and was constructed by Allard Concrete. After the winter of 2017-2018 the cracking appeared much worse and the corner of our porch was crumbling away. The cracks had a white hue around them. I started doing research into this issue of crumbling concrete foundations. I discovered that hundreds if not thousands of homes in the CT/MA area were all having the same types of issues, some dating back to 1995. The supplier of the concrete used in all of these houses was J. J. Mottes, from Stafford Springs, CT. Through my research of this problem, and after talking to several State Representatives who are working to help homeowners who are affected by crumbling concrete; I learned that it would cost between $100,000 and $250,000 to fix the problem caused by Allard Concrete using J. J. Mottes as their concrete supplier when they constructed our foundation. Until these costly out of pocket repairs are completed our houses value is $0. We will never be able to sell our house without replacing the foundation. If we do not make these repairs it is estimated that our house will be structurally unsound and will be uninhabitable within about 10 to 15 years due to the crumbling concrete. My wife reached out to Allard Concrete in mid May 2018. At first Allard seemed to be very concerned about our problem and acted like they wanted to help us. Allard Concrete said that they never used J. J. Mottes and they would have somebody come out to our house and look at the crumbling concrete. They also asked us to send them some pictures of the front porch. On May 26th, I sent them pictures of the crumbling concrete on our porch. Allard Concrete responded two days later and stated that they may have used J. J. Mottes as their concrete supplier when they built our houses foundation and porch but they have no way to be sure since they did not keep their business records from back in 2007. I then asked Allard Concrete some basic questions about how they had poured our foundation and for their advice or what they would recommend for repairing the concrete they used when they constructed our porch. Nobody from Allard Concrete came out to look at the problem and we never received a response to my questions. I sent Allard Concrete another email on June 5th. Allard Concrete said that they were sorry for not getting back to me but that they had been so busy that they hadn’t even had time to put their boat out on their lake. To me, there response seemed inappropriate. I just found out that my largest investment, my house, was now worthless due to the materials used by Allard Concrete and they respond with they are too busy to get back to me or put their boat out on their lake. After again waiting for some type of response from Allard Concrete, I sent an emailed on June 25th asking them for their advice on this issue. I also pointed out that their previous response of not being able to put their boat out on the lake was not comparable to the stress my wife and I felt about having a home that was not worthless and asked them to provide any assistance they could. A few days later, after not receiving a response to my June 25th email, my wife called Allard Concrete and they were more upset about my mentioning their boat then they were with the fact that they used an inferior product when building my house. They informed my wife that they had been too busy to do anything about our crumbling concrete foundation and that I was being very rude to them. When my wife tried to explain to Allard Concrete how this problem was affecting us and that our house may need substantial repairs, they hung up on my wife.
Flawless work. Would recommend again.
